WOW What a sad look into John's feeling of not being able to fix things for his boy right after the fire. But in his own way, he tries to make things better for them-to get Dean to relax a little!

The difference between the Dean you showed us with Mary and the Dean here with John is just so very sad. Dean before the fire must have been chatty, and to see him go so quiet shows just how shook up the kid is. I like how you had John telling Dean the truth as he knows it. He doesn't lie to him and say everything will be fine, he just lets him know he's around.

Just. . . wow. What a heartbreaking, beautiful story.
