This was quite lovely. I got a very distinct picture of the setting, and really liked the way you introduced Bill. His presence beside her was vivid in my mind. Lovely writing!

I like that they reached Earth and the people were receptive. The exchange between Laura and the bird reminded me of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven." It's sad that Laura is still dying, but at least Bill is with her. I especially liked the fingers entwining at the end. Nice job :D.
