Came across this when I checked out this site. Your writing is sorely missed. No one writes WebbMac the way you do. There is a certain poignancy in your stories that captures the loneliness that clings to Webb even in the midst of his love for Mac and Penny. He does love them and has been happy (referring to your MD universe) but his deeds with the Agency continue to haunt this man who fiercely defends his country in the best way he knows how.. Although this is Penny's story, Clay is the very real focus. Penny inherited the best of both parents. Great job!

What an incredible story. I love anything with Webb in it. Always preferred Webb/Mac stories. Harm is a pain in the butt. The pefect touch to this story, in my opinion, was Victor. Thank you for a great read.

Wonderful story!! Well written, nostalgic and very Webb

JAG was my first fandom and Harm & Mac my first ship ... however, I soon saw the error of my ways and slipped right into the Webb/Mac dynamics with great fervor (even indulging my interest -- some time ago -- with a story or two under another name.)

You've always been an excellent writer, deftly examining the depths stirring beneath each character's facade, and this story is no different. You use the English language beautifully. This Victor is heart-breakingly real and Clay's letter to Penny is terribly poignant.

Yet, and please don't be offended by this tiny criticism, I found missing the Mac connection in this short piece. She's all but dismissed as a significant apsect of Penny's life. In some ways, that seems to hollow out Penny's devotion to Clay, if only because we have nothing to balance it against. I realize this is a distant extrapolation of your MD universe, however, this is a stand-alone, and I was sorry not to see a little more revealed to add weight to Penny's introspection and emotional loss.

Still, I was very happy to have clicked on the story when I saw your name attached to it.

I'm also not a Webb/Mac fan, but I really really enjoyed this one. I enjoy your style of writing, and it was a great story line. It was nice to explore another side of Webb...I wish he had continued in the show, I enjoyed his character.

I am not really a Webb/Mac fan, but I can read and enjoy stories that have Mac and Harm paired with other people. That said...This was really well written. I enjoyed it immensely. It's actually nice to read a story where Webb is portrayed as being (or having been in this case) a really nice guy.

I have no interest - absolutely none - in Webb/Mac fanfiction, but I read the story because I had read Memorial Day. Your vision of Webb - and of Gunny - considering the characterization in MD, is not mine, but that doesn't detract from the fact that this is an exceptionally well-written piece.
