Lolchen 2009-02-11 . chapter 28lol, I remember how you had me totally baffled with who Ramesses really is back here. You did quite well, hiding it from everyone and still not contradicting it or else hinting for any others - and man I know I didn't think about any Doma connections right here and then. Past what you already let the characters realize, I wanted to say.
Mind you, the whole Sara and Kaiba fiasco was just so coming xD I loved to read about those tidbits. Say, had you planned that out before you finished the Revival series? Because you surely didn't hint anything back there, so I like to believe it was more of a spurt of the moment idea thing...
Anyway, the Yugi-Atem confusion is quite neat. I seriously couldn't tell what was wrong and who it was, though I firmly rooted for it being Yugi because Atem just can't be back in that sense and I even wondered if their connection might be re-growing since he was in the Shadow Realm... But still, Téa always said he was both after the Final Duel, so it only could be Yugi - well, I thought so at least. And it kinda turned out right after all xD
Yeah, the title for the Identity series are cool. The "Revival" and "Identity" headings are quite genius, too - and it sums up what happens in those series - the revival of the Shadow Realm/Monster Duelling/Orichalchos Stones and then the Identity Crisis not only of Yugi, but Sara as well. Good job picking them! Titles are not always easy to choose... sometimes, a chapter heading is found naturally but the name of any fic is always a more complicated matter, I understand. Well done!

Hakurei Ryuu 2008-03-17 . chapter 17man, it is just WIERD to think of kaiba having sex. don't know why, it just IS. and it's not like i have a problem with it: at the end of revival, i loved the first sex scene with joey and mai, it was just perfect! but kaiba is... well, kaiba. cold and anti-social, like you said. (never mind how he really is) and it's hard to picture him in such an intimate position.
i'm still enjoying it though. |
Hakurei Ryuu 2008-03-17 . chapter 16you must really think about this stuff. not that i blame you. i'm a detail dork myself, and i did wonder why mai was perfectly fine after the tournament, but not so fine later on. i chalked it up to stress. you know how, after a stressful event, your mind can completely blank it out, and you barely even remember it happening? those memories come back later a lot of times, when the mind thinks the danger has passed, and you're more ready to deal with the stress of it. course, that time it did NOT work out in mai's favor.
have you ever read the manga version of what marik did to mai? it was, quite literally, torture. even the japanese version of the show had to censor that! |
Hakurei Ryuu 2008-03-17 . chapter 14that was just so incredibly awesome, there are no words for it. brilliant, brilliant job! |
Hakurei Ryuu 2008-03-17 . chapter 10you see, you say that yugi is losing HALF of his shared memories, and your poor readers go and assume EXACTLY what you expected them too, considering where atem is right now, and then you go and thow in THIS brand new twist! oh, you're evil, you are... |
Hakurei Ryuu 2008-03-17 . chapter 8-blinks- boy, didn't see that coming. i always thought a kaiba kisara relationship would be taken very slowly. just my opinion though. |
Hakurei Ryuu 2008-03-17 . chapter 4that was immensely satisfying. i love it when tea gets mad at kaiba. they have such conflicting personalities that it always makes for interesting reading. either that or i get a perverse pleasure in watching people argue. |
Hakurei Ryuu 2008-03-16 . chapter 1my one dig with tristan's guardian: see, i have the card, and i always thought that command knight was a girl. |
 xheartkreuzx 2008-01-26 . chapter 8aw. finally seto!
he deserves to be happy!!
(i am getting wayy too into this story ^^; ) |
 Jensti 2007-08-20 . chapter 10Genius plot twist! |
 Jensti 2007-08-20 . chapter 8Uh! I just - uh! How perfect! |
Jensti 2007-08-20 . chapter 7'I seem to attract the nutjobs like a magnet.' you gotta feel for the kid sometimes, huh?! lol |
Jensti 2007-08-20 . chapter 6Ahh, worth the wait - I was very interested to see how you would deal with their meeting. I thought this was a very nice blend of instant attraction but tempered with the realism of the restrictions placed upon the occasion by the two personalities.
Lovely. |
Cheshire Cat Chaos 2007-08-13 . chapter 28Bah! You're killing me! This all so intese! I'd whine about that you're so talented and I'm so... not. But blah never mind! Keep up the good writing and yes the little details help. It's also fun when the little details turn out to be not so little details (in refrance to the AN in the first chapter) |
Aramis-chan 2007-06-30 . chapter 28"Kaiba would’ve given half his fortune and one of his Blue-Eyes cards to have steered clear of that mess. Well, okay, not his Blue-Eyes. XYZ Dragon Cannon, though." Heh. Love.
It's great how IC everyone is; such a long story with so much mystery wouldn't work if you couldn't trust the author not to have anyone act OOC.
I find that Kaiba spills out his whole life story a little too fast to Kisara; I can't really see him telling some stranger he just met all this, not the parts that are more personal, like having to do all this for Mokuba. Admittedly, she isn't just some stranger to him, but he hasn't fully acknowledged that fact at that point yet. (Actually, I have a lot of trouble imagining Kaiba having lots of one-night-stands too, or having sex with Sara right away -and- being good at it, but that's more a matter of personal opinion, since there's hardly anything about Kaiba's sex-life in canon. *g*)
I still think their relationship is very sweet. Especially the way they first meet, and the duel;
"Still, as much as he tried, Kaiba could not tone down his competitive edge to match her level." I loved that detail.
Sara's reaction to finding out about all the things Ishizu has been hiding (and taking credit for what Yugi found...) is funny in a way; it makes perfect sense from Sara's point of view. Not that it's fair, because after everything the Ishtar family went through, they sure deserve to keep these things.
I wish Yugi and Téa could just bring Yami back and have a threesome and lots of body-swapping sex (or they could get the puzzle and the key and have soulroom-sex instead...). Their relationship is still so very complicated, and it seemed to work out so well by the end of Revival.
You're really great at writing scenes with many characters present at the same time (which is something that seems very simple until you try it yourself – at least that's how it's for me); and at giving many character enough spotlight.
I think my favourite part of the Standby Phase was Mai's duel; I loved how the thing she had to do -wasn't- not to make the same mistake as the last time. And Yugi's very pharaoh-y "No one locks me out of a Shadow Game…" |
