Never heard of Dark Angel either...Book? Movie? Series?

Anway, very interesting beginning. I was a little confused while reading the first chapter on who was who and what had happened before said chapter, but the second one straightened things out in my mind ^^ I take it that this is set after Spiderman 3; as I haven't seen it, and, based on the way things are going between me and my mom and keeping me from the things I like/love, could you tell me what happens please? I would be forever in your debt!
