The setup was solid; the purpose of the piece was a simple comparison, so running them together was good... My understanding of the X-men stops somewhere around having seen all three movies and part of a children's television series, read a couple of comics, and memorized several handfuls of miscellaneous trivia, but this was the movie world, so I was okay...John is a St. John? Lord, like that horror of a marble angel in Jane Eyre. Pyro and Logan were more alike than I thought, but then I guess their main difference is Logan's age and confidence, and less confident inside the head is the norm... |
| Darlin 2007-05-13 ch 1, | abuseI reviewed this at the RoLo Realm but wanted to leave a review here too since I started reading the story here though finished it at the Realm. I know it's a little silly but I couldn't figure out who the second person was! It's late and I should be in bed thus the confusion I think. But after reading the third paragraph it came to me - duh! Lol. A very different way to convey two different and yet similar view by two very different men. And of course I adored the RoLo! |
| OriginalCeenote 2007-05-12 ch 1, | abuseIt's rare that I enjoy a story that hasn't one bit of dialogue, even though as I imagine the scenes you wrote, I can almost hear the characters talking, or see them searching for words. Your style reminds me of Darlin's, which is a good thing, since she is on my Favorites list. Yet you also have a nice knack of seeing the feelings the characters probably feel for each other but will not admit. Good work, Rose. |
