Very cute one-shot. I too can see House as being gentle and sweet. I love shows with strong female characters, because when they cry in the episodes it is always a huge event and generally an awesome episode. It's like that with both House and Law & Order: SVU. Anyway, I like seeing the vulnerable side of Cuddy sometimes, and House comforting her makes it even better. Makes me wonder what made her cry though...

I agree with you about House. I think he's a little bit more open when he cares about someone -- especially if he's alone with that person. He was very sweet with Stacy, and I look at his interactions with her as kind of a template for House in a serious relationship. He was snarky and evil when he had an audience, but when they were alone he let his softer side through.

I really liked your fic; espacially the fact that we don't know what Cuddy has; afterall, a girl doesn't need a reason to cry ;-) I found House not too OOC. I find it more plausible (don't know if this word exists in english), possible that House wouldn't have much to say and would stay silent instead of saying platitudes. Great job, thanks for sharing this piece!

ow... adorable... honsestly when in your fic house said “Cuddy, you can’t cry over every patient,” I can't help but remember the theory I had on why House said in the episode "3 stories" that "its in the nature of medicine taht you're gonna screw up. If you can't live with that fact, you better finish med school and teach."

actually, i think that was one reason why Cuddy ended up as a hospital administrator and the dean of medicine. Of course before being a Dean, one has to teach a few good years and remember all the emotions she has to let go everytime she connects with her patients? It just fit.

Anyway, in your fic. Its really nice. I don't think House is quite OOC. I think it was exactly something that will happen to them. The sensitive moments of their friendship (and undertones of love and concern for each other)are the sort of things that are happening to them in the confined spaces of either offices but in the end neither will dare to mention anything about what had happened. That was the kind of relationship that doesnt require a lot of words and definition for emotion.

That was nice, and I totally agree with your assessment in your author's note. That's something I liked about the Stacy arc -- it gave us a glimpse of a different side of House. Nice job!

It's funny, but before I read your author's note, I was thinking that it might seem like House is OOC, but he's really not. I could see him doing something sweet, then both of them acting like it never happened and never discussing it again. This did seem realistic to me. Good job!

(Of course, House, being House, will probably try to dig up exactly why she was crying, but I guess that's a fic for another time.)
