ShadowedFang 3/7/12 . chapter 1You smoothly match canon and then surpass it. |
KraZiiePyrozHavemoreFun 2/5/12 . chapter 26I love it! Its absolutely great! (I like val and dans meet at the end, only my inner dark grey fangirl is sad that theres lke no romance betwen them-how you did it fit greatly!) Soooo glad i read it! |
Lightning Streak 8/29/11 . chapter 26Wow...your writing just made my life. O_o. That was seriously one of the better pieces of fanfiction I've ever read, and I'm in shock that I haven't seen your work before now. The characterizations, word flow, grammar, and plot were all completely stellar. I feel like the time it took me to read all of this was time very well spent. :) You're an amazing author! |
Midnayuki 6/20/10 . chapter 26 Excellent series! Read them all through in about three days, with a few breaks in between. You are an evil genius when it comes to setting up invisible plot points that come together at the very end. |
Fugitive of Gray 6/18/10 . chapter 26Awww somehow thats actually a cute ending, when all Dan and Valerie have left is each other, they are kind of like an old married couple... and in the end all of the main characters paired off...
this is the best series i have EVER read on this site, it has truly been a pleasure

Fugitive of Gray 6/18/10 . chapter 20Ok theres just one thing I've got to mention... Vlad's portal is actually nearest to Pariah's keep... But thats ok, if entrances to the ghost zone can move or if Walkers prison is relativity close to the Castle (Source Livin Large)

 Fugitive of Gray 6/17/10 . chapter 12"FU-"
"If that ends wtih a dessert item, i swear no one is going to take you seriously ever again"
That made me laugh so hard i think i scared my cat! I just had to mention this, even though i usually only review at the end of a story this was too funny not to mention! XD It's also hilarious how alike Dan and Vlad are, the show never really approached that angle

SamoaPhoenix9 5/28/10 . chapter 26I think my favorite thing about this story is how you kept Dan in his TUE incarnation and maintained that personality, while just removing the part where he's certifiably insane and obsessed with destruction. You still see flashes of it, how he's tempted to go back to that life because it's easier and there's no thinking about the future involved, but he also knows that he doesn't need to hide behind that safety net of craziness anymore. He hasn't forgiven Valerie (I liked their little "it's your fault!" sessions), but he sort of starts to forgive himself and let go of his mistakes. I thought one of the most moving bits, out of all of the very moving sections that pepper this story, is at the end when he throws away the destruction gauntlet and turns his back on Valerie, ready to let her destroy him, but warns her how hard it is to stop at one murder. It doesn't fill the void.
Is it bad that I think Dan is hilarious when he's on a roll? His evil quips are so perfectly timed. I found myself periodically giggling aloud as I read this. There are so many great lines from him I could never pick a favorite.
Another of my favorite parts of this story was the whole thing where they meet Lancer. Of course he would be a teacher-ghost whose obsession is research. Great plot twist.
What a great story! I can understand why it took you so long. It must have taken a lot of planning and work to get it this good.

jamrulz 5/9/10 . chapter 1I would like it if you made a story about the Ultimate Enemy's view on Reality Trip |
Mizuki hikari 4/3/10 . chapter 26I could see dan and valery in love with each other and never tell it.because they are both stubborn and proud people. so they will always have a love hate relationship. XD I loved yours story and I wish you did a danny or dan with valery scene that is a little more romatic and what I always wonder is how did Danny feel about valery confessing? and does she know now? |
Krytical 9/5/09 . chapter 26Awesome story! I'm bummed that there is no more story, but it ended well. |
Cordria 7/11/09 . chapter 26Just dropping you a line to say I downloaded all of this saga, copied and pasted it into a word document (all 600 pages of it) and I'm dragging it with me to read on my plane ride. KaliPhantom recommended it and I'm really looking forwards to reading it!
I'll send you review when I get back. :) Thank you for the reading material!

InvisibleJediMaster 5/4/09 . chapter 26Reading this was just amazing. It makes me wonder how much of your time you dedicate to writing these stories. |
Vai Russ 3/28/09 . chapter 26- That was indeed an interesting ending to the story. Nice way to wind things up. ;A; I wonder what will happen to Valerie and Dan now? Ah well, sometimes not knowing is better. xDD
Anyways, good show, old man! It's been fun reading your story while it lasted! |
grimAuxiliatrix 3/26/09 . chapter 26Oh man, I missed the party! D: I wrote it on my calendar, too...
I think this was the perfect way to end the story. I'd ask relentlessly for you to make a sequel, but I don't think there are any loose ends to tie up, and making another plotline sounds like a huge chore. I'd actually kind of like to see Dan and Clockwork interacting, but again, anything that could be said between them is implicit in the story, so it wouldn't be necessary.
The interaction between Dan and Valerie here is excellent. Dan is unrepentant and Valerie is unforgiving, but they're both willing to ignore that for the sakes of their friends. It seems like they're both relieved that their rivalry has finally cooled from its all-consuming obsession into a lingering disdain, and that the need to kill one another doesn't run so strongly any more. They're even teasing each other, or at least Dan is teasing Valerie, like reluctant allies. I think they could be friends, potentially, if not for their gruesome past. Then again, what's in the past should stay there; forgive and forget, right? They assure each other that they hate each other, but contempt seems to have grown familiarity - it's almost a kindred, familial hatred.
I found Clockwork's unexpected appearance amidst the Observants an appropriate conclusion to his initial disappearance. Although as the Observants were discussing things, it seemed like they had someone in mind to hand Clockwork's mantle over to. Dan, perhaps? That would have made an interesting twist indeed, although at that point he would be estranged from the rest of the cast, and I have a feeling he doesn't want to leave them forever. Dan as Master of Time - wouldn't that be something? Alas, Clockwork has returned, so there goes my short-lived theory.
You've done some great work on this story, this series of stories, and in connecting all the events and tying everything up tightly at its end. I'll make sure I read anything else you happen to put up here. :D |
