The scene when Aragorn introduces the topic of turtle is dead funny. There's a constant undertone of sadness to this one that realy builds as I read, until at the end my throats closing up. I always hated the idea of elves/dwarves and men losing each other forever...and you really show that separation here without actually saying it.

Also liked the home 'topic' to this. Aragorn has it right of course...it isnt fixed. Its liek that say home is where the heart is which follows then that you'd carry it with you to a certain extent..when Legolas finally realised that it was just perfect. And then saying 'wherever the damned turtles go' was so amusing! ^__^ Just imagining the guards faces to that phrase is downright hilarious :P But als really depressing, Legolas' thoughts anyway, and that letter too.

This bit: "All gone, he thinks – except that there is something left."
He's not just talking about the smoke is he? But whats left in his heart? or memory? explain what you mean! I'm not sureI get that part...

Oh yeah and I really liked how the flashbacks were worked in and what was in them...basically this was just excellent! Thank you x

This story left me laughing and crying at the same time! It´s very well-written and has a great sense of humour (I loved the bickering), but also a sufficient amount of sadness. The letter is heartbreaking, especially the image of Legolas laughing until he cries...

Wow. Just wow. Honestly, I just about cried, and I almost never cry. This was amazingly well written and I loved the way you portrayed Legolas and Aragorn and their friendships. And the turtles. I loved the turtles.
"Wherever the damned turtles go."
that made me grin.
Congrats on the Teitho win, this definitely deserved it!

CONGRATULATIONS on the Teitho Win! This was such a good story. I almost cried, and I do not cry easily. I think you have captured Legolas and Aragorn better than most and the ending of their time together in Arda. Thank you for sharing!

That was a beautiful and moving story. It got my vote for 1st place even though I usually dislike stories which feature Aragorn's death since they always strip it of all the strenght and dignity it has in The Story of Aragorn and Arwen. Yours didn't. Congratulations.

I truly enjoyed reading this. As someone who has spent most of my life traveling from place to place with the air force I learned that home is the people you love more than anything else, so this erally touched my heart.

Thank you for writing this.

I read and voted for this story at Teitho. I loved it. Everything fit in with the Teitho theme so well, and the title is perfect. Congratulations on winning first place.

The opening line is wonderfully expressed. I love the way you wove the story, not only between timelines, but between points of view. I think the last thing from Legolas is beautiful.
