katemary77 2009-05-17 . chapter 7Bahh it's not letting me review all the later chapters because I already have! Just read chpt 418! aha! wish they had done it against the batmobile, that would've been hot. Alfred cracks me up so much, as did Bruce's response. Ah!! |
katemary77 2009-05-17 . chapter 13Alfred’s eyes narrowed into mistrustful slits. “Really,” he said again.
“And you were looking out for me the way you always do,” Bruce continued. “Because that’s what family does.”
The old butler stared at him, immobile and speechless. He obviously believed Bruce’s body had been overtaken by evil forces.
“You are my family, you know,” said Bruce, his tone noticeably more sincere. “I lost my father when I was eight years old, but I didn’t grow up without one. You’ve always been there. You’ve been my father.”
The two men shared a brief, deep look. Then a glint of triumph slowly surfaced behind Bruce’s dark blue eyes.
Alfred regarded him stonily. "I take it that was your present to Dr. Kent?"
"Part of it," said Bruce cheerfully. "Beat that if you can." He took a sip of tea.
"There's still another shopping day before Christmas," said Alfred ominously. He left the room rather quickly.
-- that interchange was AWESOME |
 katemary77 2009-05-17 . chapter 12lol she really "fell" for him |
Miravisu 2008-12-26 . chapter 22>“Oh, Alfred,” said Martha, whose eyes had left the television the moment the butler had lowered the tray. “Please marry me.”
“Let us wait until your program is over to make the arrangements,” he said dryly. “We would not want to be too hasty.”<
*laughs out loud*
>“And you were looking out for me the way you always do,” Bruce continued. “Because that’s what family does.”
The old butler stared at him, immobile and speechless. He obviously believed Bruce’s body had been overtaken by evil forces.<
hahaha, I'll say, Bruce being very emotional!
>“Why are you – here?” he sputtered indignantly.
“You know I haven’t had sex in a long time,” Bruce said mildly. “It didn’t take very long. I’m afraid Dr. Kent finds the ice cream more satisfying.”<
Evil, evil I tell you! ;D
*cackles*
Alfred the Matchmaker!
>“Our daughter's best friends in Gotham City are a nymphomaniac, a 93-year-old man and a dissociative mass murderer,” Lois said. “But you don't think it's possible that she's sleeping with a dysfunctional middle-aged vigilante?”<
*giggles at the diagnosis scene as well*
But ohmy, the ending of this year's story, dark for sure. Riveting reading! |
Puck'slastlove 2008-12-17 . chapter 7Aw...^^. could you do more bats showing emotions? that was too cute for words. btw, he isn't going to really hurt Alfred, is he? *looks worried* |

teazer 2008-08-03 . chapter 19“Spare me the modesty. There’s the two of you, and then there’s everyone else."
nuff said. excellent sentence right there. |
Protector of Canon2 2008-03-18 . chapter 22I would just like to say right now that I totally called it. |
 Protector of Canon2 2008-03-18 . chapter 21Wow...
This is really good. The fight's great, the death scene's great, all the reactions are great.
But.
The circumstances of the death seem a bit suspicious.
1) In a fandom like this, no one is dead until the body is found -- and sometimes not even then. No body was found.
2) True, the cloth was found, with her blood on it, but losing that much blood would not have been fatal if it was extracted when she was injured and left for the searchers to find.
3) Speaking of the cloth, how could a bomb powerful enough to completely destroy Superwoman leave a scrap of cloth unharmed?
4) Yes, the telepath said she was gone. However, we know very little about her powers, and there is precedent for technology that can block telepathy.
5) Speaking of technology, whatever happened to Braniac?
6) Yes, Flash said he didn't so her. Fine, she wasn't taken away faster than the eye could follow. What about teleportation? Invisibility?
7) I simply don't believe that you would kill her at this point in the relationship between her and Bruce. Bruce has already lost many people close to him, so it would achieve little. Him thinking that ha lost her, on the other hand...
Well, it may just be wistful thinking on my part, but I'm not writing the eulogy quite yet.
I'm gonna go find out if I'm right or not. |
Anon. 2008-02-23 . chapter 9 Love it (and the previous, or I wouldn't be reading it, heh). But the burgeoning student of Spanish in me can't help but get held up on Superwoman's line of 'Puede tu decir 're-run'?'. Not that I'm fluent, but I cannot help but think that it should be be 'Puedes', as it is meant to imply the 'tu', not the 'usted', form... |
GothikStrawberry 2008-01-31 . chapter 22... argh... Bruce is an idiot ... there I've said it... telling Martha he doesn't love her...argh! I get why he thought he had to. And then he goes and accidentally overdoes ... and Martha is still alive somewhere ... albeit she's in the company of a superpowered maniac ...
This is even better than the first installment. I loved it. :) Onward to Truth and Justice: The Third Year. |
CalypsoHunter 2008-01-30 . chapter 22good story. it actually have me crying when i read the death scene. i can't wait to read the second one! keep writing. |
AngerManagementIssues 2007-10-22 . chapter 22 Hey, I really like your story. I typically read the Joker stories, but Batman is awesome too, and your story is really good. I hope there is a sequel. |
They call me Bruce 2007-10-09 . chapter 22 Good work on this. |
Naga 2007-10-01 . chapter 22Ohnononono... how can you end it there?? Mid-Oct? I will perish from the suspense before the date arrives!
I was guessing that Martha got transported to some other dimension-thingy, though it will be quite interesting/amusing to see how she'd live with her neighbour Parallax (on a side note, I kinda liked Hal Jordan).
And Bruce! The whole description of his dogged search and falling apart at the funeral and at home was very heart-breaking. And also, alcohol + sleeping pills = suicide attempt. Wonder how many people will be treating him differently, after his pseudo-suicide incident (ironically, it was really an accident). Is the cat going to be out of the bag for Superman's family then? No way is Bruce Wayne getting an emergency stomach pump going to out of the newspaper.
And I love how you focus on the rest of the crew also - Lian, Roy, Midori, Glen's grief and their own method of coping (or not) were very real. And poor Alfred and the Kents!
