M...well, the parallel is nice, but I wasn't fond of the shaving scene on the show, and I'm not fond of the one here, either. Just not my thing. I do, however, utterly adore everything else about this fic. The dialogue sounds perfectly natural, no awkward phrasing. I feel like I can really see this playing out - and I'm glad you chose not to linger in the hospital or skip straight to them being at home, but to focus on the journey in between points. It would have been so easy to gloss over in a single sentence, but instead I can feel the silence stretching out, and Sara's fruitless attempts to fill it. Once home, I very much like protective!Grissom, and the detail about the dog jumping up is fantastic. Overall, definitely one of the best post-eps so far.

I love how intimate this scene is... Grissom's concern and fear are so palpable, and I love how patient Sara is with him. Lovely work.
