I never imagined that a Near/Misa fic could be handled so well. You write a good Near and the whole thing is... I don't know how to describe it. Since the pairing is so unusual, I can't say realistic - I guess I can say that the story is strong. The way the characters are portrayed is so right. I'm now interested in this pairing and even see it possible. Wow.

The sex part was... amusing, to be honest. It was so systematic that I couldn't refrain from laughing. It wasn't hilarious - but it had some eerie humour in it. I still can't believe they got married and all. I can't picture Near planning to marry her. Really, that was weird but somewhat believable. Perhaps that's just you - you have a way of making things seem more believable, though I cannot go as far to say realistic, I'm still not sure about the whole marriage thing.

And the plot... Well, to say the least, it's intriguing. I'd never think that Near would make a deal with Ryuk so Light would survive. I don't get why he did it, but you were probably going to explain it - if you continued this. I really hope you do, because this is a very interesting story and I'm hooked up. I'm sure you'll write another great chapter and surprise us all again. I hope it happens soon.

This is a pairing I never would have thought of, and yet I can't stop reading it. The lemon was handled well, just the way I would see Near approaching something like that. The story is interesting also, and I like how you switch between time-lines to explain things.

Incidentally, what is the name/artist of the song lyrics you used for this chapter? The lyrics are interesting...

It seems that I can use ffNET freely again. Yay. Anyway, I've just finished reading this... Let me tell you something - I'm not a big fan of most Near pairings. But this story just... works so well and allows me to believe in Near x Misa. It's dark, twisted and disturbing, and some parts are also very touching. Chapter 5 is especially entertaining because of their quirky intimate moments. Near is so... realistically helpless and confused, even if he doesn't want to show it. Can't wait to see more of this! I believe this is the second time for me to write up a review for your stories. the first one was Appetite For Enigma qhich really is a wonderful story! i read it twice!
I also love Her God is My Enemy and frankly, i used to not like Misa Amane because i thought that she was just a stupid girl who was obsessed about Light that she would do anything that he asks without question. But your story really help me change my impression on her. I also like Near or Nate River very much. I love the way how you portray the characters. They are not like the fanfics that i read. Most of the characters are out of character. This is a very satisfying story for me and also Appetite for enigma.
P.S. I also don't like Yaoi fanfics of Light and L Lawliet.
it makes my stomach churn. ^-^

Very systematic way of having sex. It was Near's first time anyway, so I could forgive him for that (why would it matter if I forgive him or not?!) Sorry if I had just reviewed this now, Cooper-senpai; life in the outside world has been too tough with me (look, I didn't even log in as Condolezza). Anyway, thank you for dedicating this chapter to me! I felt so honored!

About the chapter.

I can't believe it, they're married, and they just had systematic sex. It was just...odd, associating Near with...normalcy. But as I read it, I think it was completely plausible. I don't think anyone was being OOC, and I liked the beginning of the chapter wherein you had put a brief explanation of Ian's relationship with Near. It's touching, and I was strongly reminded of L and Watari's relationship.

All in all, I was amused. Because Near was too friggin' blunt.
