Calliope - Muse of epic poetry
2007-08-12 . chapter 1
It's me again. It's just something about your stories... All I can think of (after reading Deathly Hallows) are the sentences that describe these three lost boys who all have found a home at Hogwarts. Another beautiful story, my dear. You are amazing at writing these short little ficlets. They make me wish for more, yet there is no need to. They are all complete in their own right. (Your insight in the characters are so good, I'm really starting to suspect that you *are* JKR - though she has sometimes disappointed me while you has not.) Thank you once again.

Well put together exposé of the three halfbloods, their wands, their hopes and their achivements. I greatly enjoyed the portrait of Ollivander.

Good idea to tell a story about Diagon Alley that represents, for many children Muggleborns (and for the readers) the first view on the Wizarding world, perhaps even more exciting than Hogwarts castle.
Ollivander’s is of course on the top of the wish list for every first years, so it is interesting to compare just in here, under the piercing eyes of this old man, the reactions and thoughts of these famous young boys, symbolizing the most powerful wizards of three generations. For this reason I enjoyed and appreciated the care you have dedicated to assign the right magic elements forming their wands in order to reveal temper, purpose, ethic of the boys and to make foresee us a bit of their future. Very touching the part regarding Snape while in Harry’s, his astonishment is all ours too.
Thanks again for another “intimist” story.

Occamy, interesting choice. Of course in canon Ollivander says he only uses dragon heartstring, unicorn hair and phoenix feather.

What excellent sketches of the three half-bloods. I think you describe what each of them hoped of their wands very well indeed.

Very nice, as ever. You're especially good at giving your stories an almost architectural structure of cross-links and internal echoes.
