From RionaEire, my name isn't showing up right. Good chapter, you answer the question about Shadow's habitability which is helpful. I like the term "Re-stolen horse". It will be good for Liara to stand up to these guys and regain some of her power and confidence. That bit about her seeing young Malcolm's growth chart was kind of emotional for me, its little tangiblethings like that which stick with you, the idea of them being in his burnt out abandoned old house and seeing something that meant something long ago.

I usually see stories where Shadow has been nuclearly destroyed. But occasionally I see stories like this, where the whole planet has gone to ruins. Stories where that has happened make more sense if the author explains how this happened. A dead planet is easier to explain than an abandoned one. Looking forward to more of the story, I sense that there are a few more chapters and then it will finish, but will possibly be the start of a series.

Good job, it was fairly clear what was going on, practice is the best way to improve something. I think its good that Liara was able to face those guys and come out victorious, it will be really good for her self image and give her confidence. I'm guessing soon she will be facing the captain of that ship, that will be scary but she is a strong and tough woman, and if she wins against him she will have a sense of closure that will help her heal. In future you might want to go into more detail in your action scenes, so its clear what's going on. Pretend that you can see what's happening, but your reader can't, so you have to tell them clearly what's going on, meaning that if you miss parts they will be confused. But this was a good first go for this story.

This is a really good story - I am so glad that you didn't abandon it even though you didn't get a chance to update for the longest time.

This chapter makes me want to know more about Liara's past, I like the imagery of her at the House of Doves. The coincidental thing is that she was at the House of Doves and then Mal says she's not a sheltered dove later in the story, was that accidental or on purpose?

I really like this story. Is it going to go through Serenity? How is liria love interest Jayne or mal. It seems as both are a possibility. Yet at moments you lean toward mal and inara. Jayne seems like he could start to care for the girl. If mal is not romantically inclined toward her I would say that he has the same fatherly affection for her as he does for kaylee and river please contiune

I hope Liara will heal and be just fine. I think she will. I think its going to be okay for her, even though it will take some time. Maybe the horses will help, lots of people find them soothing. River might like them too perhaps.
