That truly was a bittersweet ending, wasn't it? I liked it, then I didn't like it. I don't know. A few people have claimed that the writers said, in a deleted scene, that if the captain's lover was faithful to him for those ten years that, when the ten years was up, then the captain could stay on land for the rest of his life. I'm not sure if that's true or not (we'll have to wait for the dvd to come out), but Ihope it is!

Anyway, fantastic job on your oneshot. I truly enjoyed it, and thought it was rather cute.

I have to say, in this fic you managed to make me feel the same feelings I did while watching Will and Elizabeth's story play out in the movie. You made me get teary but you also made me laugh. I loved the whole not-so-politically-correct king and queen part, and I loved the ending, as well. This fic was the epitome of the bitter with the sweet, just like this last movie was. Brava.
