abuseCM, I can't believe I didn't review this when I read it back in June. :duh:

You write the characters as though you know them personally. You have the banter down perfectly, and you saw into the characters' hearts. Sheldon and Flack emerging as the "Kings of Subtlety" was hilarious.

Bravo!

abuseI really enjoyed this. It is such a smart idea to build it around this specific card game, Danny calling Lindsay's bluff in the end!

Your dialogue is beautiful, and I liked that you opened with Lindsay and Sheldon.

Now, I will have to read some of your other work too. Any recommendations as to what I should start with? ;)

abuseA couple of my favorite parts:

"I’ve found that it’s not possible to care too much. That’s what makes us human. And it might cause you pain down the road, but not caring is not an option.”

“Just promise me you’re not going to run away from me this time, Lindsay Monroe. I’ll follow you to Montana or hell and back if I have to, but I’d rather you just stay here, in my arms. The rest we can deal with later.”

abuseI love your "Let's Play A Game" series, and this fits right up there with the best of them. You have the banter and teasing and lightheartedness down so well with the whole group, and then turn on the tenderness at the last minute so well.

Let's see - another game? Poll, perhaps?
