well you said in your a/n that you still had to make your daughter's grad dress (at the time-i hope you finished it-it was last year, haha!), so i assume that's where you got your inspiration for this, lol! it's very cute and well done. like the dialog between stella and lindsay, esp. the orphanage-prep curriculum, haha!. off to read the next in the series!

Better late than never, right *lol*

The dialogue in this fic is just perfect. You capture the banter/ teasing/ sarcasam that flows between good friends. I also love the premise: Lindsay determined to make her own wedding dress.

So much that was good but just to select a few highlights...

...Stella's comment about a 'dry period' and Lindsay's come back

...Lindsay convinced Stella would have learned to sew because she grew up in an orphange and Stella telling her she learned how to strip a car engine

...Stella's thoughts on her own wedding dress (Vera Wang here I come)

...The comment about the shower

...Stella emotion at the end and as lindsay is producing the material for the maid of honours dress

Loved it!

I love that Stella, who knows nothing about sewing, just jumps in to help, but Lindsay is a force to be reckoned with! LOL why can I see Linds just sitting outside of Stella's door, working on it, just to drive her nuts LOL I am loving this! Hope the dress is close to done (in real life)

What a lovely break in the day!

This was great reading. Excellent dailogue. I loved how you made this topic so beautifully humorous.

The last line was perfect!

I loved thsi line: "“It doesn’t seem fair that the dress is getting to shower and I don’t,” Stella groused, but she got up from the floor where she had collapsed and continued her apprenticeship as chief pattern-snipper, pin-holder, remnants-folder and general dogsbody."

And the one about the sexual favours. And all the rest too.

This was cute. You left it kinda open if you wanted later to

come back and continue it. It's perfect as a oneshot too though,

it would be just whatever. Either way I'd review.

Cute story. I can almost hear Stella protesting the making of the maid of honor dress from here. :)

Just a couple questions: 1) How in the world would Stella find out about Danny and Lindsay's fondness for pool tables? I would be interested to know how she came by that knowledge. And 2) What in the world is a dogsbody? Is that a Canadian thing? :) I kind of get the idea from the context, but I have never heard the term before.

Teehee! there's always a drawback! poor Stella!
Dallasbaby212 6/5/07 . chapter 1
I really like it. What is the name of that song?
Quintessence of Darkness 6/5/07 . chapter 1
Aww that was so sweet! I love the idea of Lindsay making her own dress and conning Stella into helping her!

I hope that you decide to add more chapters. Though it does work wonderfully as a oneshot.

this is fun and it is Fiesta & M&Ms. I would like to read more
The Little Corinthian 6/4/07 . chapter 1
Mwha. Seeing as how I spent all day Saturday sewing, I cackle in Stella's direction. And I love that Lindsay's channeling a little Yente. Even if it is directed towards my pretty. :0P Cute! Good luck with your sewing!
feathergirl926 6/4/07 . chapter 1
Aww too cute! And I completely agree with Lindsay about the whole Stella/Flack situation...
ChocoBetty 6/4/07 . chapter 1
Are you sure this is going to be humor? Because I can see a homicide coming up...

If I were in Stella's place (or shoes) I would kill Linday. Right there, right now.

Hungry, no coffee (and I don't even drink coffee) and sewing for hours? Not the perfect combination.

But I see your point. And I know how things come with "had to write this story".

By the way: I had to turn on "Jenny don't be hasty" when you mentioned it at the beginning.

That was hilarious. I loved this story, and I have to admit, throwing in the song was awesome. I was so happy when they played it in "Snow Day". It really is an amazing song. Anyway, keep up the great work!
