It's not the ending I expected, but it was great nonetheless. I love how Derek's rep. changed over the years--it's so odd for Sam to go back to that place and feel somewhat lost realizing that Derek wasn't the Derek he knew. I love how in the end, despite the unhappy ending, it was happy that Derek and Casey did love each other--and that their daughter grew up happily. Great job. And don't worry, I'll be waiting for your deleted scenes and such. They're a blast reading. ^_^

Should a love story go out with bang inducing excitement or a romantic murmur...quite the quandary?

This was surely one of the most unique and well written stories I have ever read on this site. Perhaps it is your last LWD fic and perhaps not but you did well by this. I will surely remember it. Thank you for such a fantastic take on Casey and Derek's relationship.

What a wonderful ending to a wonderful story. I loved how you brought Sam back (I rather liked him) and also dropped hints of what the family was doing. Beautiful, bittersweet ending: jeez, I wish I could write like this. Just brilliant.

Nice couple of updates. You did a wondeful job with this story from start to finish although I would of loved to to have seen Casey live and see her and Derek go from what they were to a happy family. Keep up the good work!

anyways really amazing story. i have been reading this for so long that it seems crazy that it is over. of course, like i have told you before, every chapter was worth the wait. you are a wonderful writer and as you certainly know that can be hard to find on this website. i am so glad that you finished this and didn't just give it up like some people do (myself included lol). thanks again for this story. i have really enjoyed it. :)

wow... even in the past, Derek is a bambling idiot... lol.. great chapter and i hope to read more! alittle rough though... not really my type of thing but it caught my attention!

Ah, so it is their daughter who frees her parents *cough* the birds. How fitting! That their child brings them together, and, in the manner of tragedies, just in time for it all to fall apart (perhaps?). But it is so very bittersweet that only at the end do Casey and Derek manage to start admitting their feelings of love and such just in time for Casey to die.

As for Edwin, I like very much that you have not told us outright what exactly his feelings are. I happen to love implications so much more than being told explicitly what everyone feels and/or does, and it also helps with the illusion that this is a piece of fiction out of the past, rather than simply a piece of fiction based on a tv show set in the past. Also, the quick passage of time does this effectively, too, though it threw me off as I have not been reading many historic pieces lately.

As always, another lovely chapter. I cannot wait for the epilogue!

I appreciate the realistic touches you put in this fic, such as the difficulties of travel during this story's time.

I do not often review on this fic but I do read, and enjoy, it. It is most definitely the most unique ongoing story I have found in the LWD verse.

This was pretty ambiguous, I will give you that. I'm very happy for Lizzie, however. She seems the only happy person in this entire family, so good for her. Edwin's plight is sad too, but I like that fact you made him go to Canada (perhaps he starts a line of Venturi's that leads up to the present?)

I love the way you use the language and style of Hardy's novels (and others from the time period) for the LWD universe. It really speaks to your talent, and also makes a beautiful story that seems to come alive. The fact that I love those types of novels just makes it better :)

The fact that casey's dying is indeed quite sad, but I think it needed to be done. It seems (to me at least) that Casey and Derek's love is so tumultuous and so twisted that they can't really ever stay together in an orthodox relationship, and something really catastrophic (such as the death of their daughter, and now the slow termination of Casey) to make them completely connect. Otherwise, they're such polar opposites that they're constantly miserable.

This story happens to be one of true favorites, like the one I smile when I see an update. I read it last cause I save the best for last.

Oh my gosh, I'm terribly sorry that I haven't reviewed the past chapters--busy life as you must relate. ^^; These "Temptation" chapters were a wonderful addition, and although it's sad that this chapter is the end (and my fav. out of the three)--I'm glad that they were even a part of the story. The glimpses into their past were what I needed to quench my thirst of what happened to them and how things got to where they are/were. In addition, your "deleted scenes" or interludes are GREAT! I know they don't really update the story, but in truth, I consider them to be an update b'cuz they provide some good insight to things. I'm kinda sad some of those things weren't added (like Derek saying to Casey he doesn't share) but I'm so happy you've blessed us by sharing them.

Gah, I love how you've somehow gotten LWD into this era--it's wonderful! I love your story and I hope you update soon. I'm so glad that Lizzie is getting married, and me oh my: Casey and Derek having a second child? Sounds promising. Can't wait for the next chapter!
