2008-10-13 . chapter 50
Yay~! Update! I actually read this chapter a few days ago, but for some reason my computer wouldn't let me review it.

I'm so happy Paulie got some action! I love the whole Chimney/Paulie thing! It's genius! THE WHOLE FREAKING STORY IS!

I like that it's told in letters. I've always love that format for stories.

-gasp- It's not in third person!
And nice names for the kids by the way. xD

Please write again soon, and may blocks never visit your wigwam.

When the heck did Paulie and Chimney have a kid together? Ah well, this story is so long I wouldn't be that surprised if I started missing details.

Ah, college.

2008-10-05 . chapter 12
Man, that is a very sad flashback. The word "sad" doesn't even do justice. What an extremely complicated family...! I wonder if Chimney has a little unconscious hate for Thomas. (Please tell me if I'm misreading that Thomas was conceived during "that" night.) Your depiction of the W7 collapse is well-done, and I could really see it happen that way if Iceburg was killed. Paulie's character is incredible. Only the most honorable of men would be so selfless. I feel touched and saddened at the same time.

2008-10-05 . chapter 11
Man, you have a really diverse cast of crew members! It's great. Moda may be weak, but she is also empathetic, which is a kind of strength in and of itself. For example, if I were in her situation, I would never have been able to think of chocolate-chip cookies. Geez, Moda is an obscure character... I would have never guessed who she was until I read your note.

Paulie jumped in there and certainly took advantage of the confusion, I'd say. I wonder what happened with all of their powers... Only one way to find out. NEXT!!

Even though you said that Ninjin won't narrate too often, I find that I don't mind his voice. It's unintelligent, but also down to Earth. I'm mean... he's being honest about Kalifa. What more could you ask for? The way he communicates in incomplete sentences reminds me of how I think to myself when I'm working something out. Looking forward to the fight... oh wait, I'll just read it right now. NEXT!!

Tashigi has just been solidified as my favorite. She's rather complex. It seems like she's both fearful and fearless at the same time. Fearful to lose her life and fail to obtain her dream, yet fearless to walk the dangerous path that such a dream requires. Toss in a healthy dose of revenge and you've got a formula for some awesomeness. The fact that she finds somewhat Lucci attractive angers me, though. Maybe 'cause I like her too much... haha. Excellent dream sequence too. NEXT!!

2008-10-05 . chapter 8
O... Dragon's heir, eh? It seems there is a depth to this dark world that has yet to be explored. I'm curious what role the revolutionaries will play. Looking forward to it. Jayabura's creepiness is spine-tingling in this chapter. I feel like yelling: "DON'T TOUCH HER, YOU SICK BASTARD!!" The only problem with that would be that I'm a normal human, so he could probably eat me alive. Meh, I be happy with giving him a REALLY upset stomach.

I'm going to continue like I've never been away, so... NEXT CHAPTER!

Yatta~! I love updates! And Ninjin got his memories back! -is happy- I hope you update again soon! ... Ninjin and Aisa would make an odd, but kind of cute couple... xD

I'm not sure if I like some of Aisa's thoughts... While what she did was /generally/ nice, some of her other thoughts about if she learned what Ninjin knows and how she'd be unstoppable were disconcerting.

Excellent work! I've only read the first two chapters, but I'm hooked. It's well written, a good, original concept using the supporting cast from the series, and as you said and I whole heartedly agree with, it'll be good to read a Mature fanfic without the sex aspect, seeing as 90% of the fics in this section are pairings of one sort or another.

Just in time for my birthday (which is 7/31)!

My one complaint about the chapter is the speed at which Dan seems to have learned how to do the things he can do. It strikes me as something that would take a while to master, but that's just me.

Interesting that Aisa can fix memory blocks with her mantra ability.

Still, the speed at which things are learned is irking me a bit, but perhasp Dan is an abnormally quick study or something.

Keep on writing!

Seeing Moda all serious for once is nice. I know she's been serious before, but never really incorporating someone else's viewpoint.

YAY YOU UPDATED YAY YAY YAY!

Nice to see Moda's opinion on fighting. And Dan's opinion on staying vs. going.

Wonder what Aisa is hiding?

Great chapter. Once again your descriptions of Water 7 (just like your aqua laguna fic) are really rich. I love this decent into hell being both literal and figurative. It also feels like the world is getting more claustrophobic as we get deeper too. I ate it up like pancakes with bananas in 'em. M... Yummy!!

Paulie's character is well done too. As I expected, he's very cynical. Like you said, even in the manga he was already kind of abrasive. Considering what he's been through I could definitely see that characteristic getting amplified.

Next! Hehe.

2008-07-18 . chapter 6
You were right. Kappa has me bashing my skull. By far, his narration style stands out more than any I've seen so far. To think that every guy could have a unique insult name... blows my mind. How do you manage to keep track of all those names?! I know for a fact that I would've confused Dickhead and Idiot a few times. After reading Kappa's words, I don't think I could EVER see him being the member of a crew with a male captain.

Interestingly enough, I don't feel the same dark vibe in this chapter as I do with all of the previous ones. I think this is because Kappa is a specimen with a mindset from better times. In other words, his belief in chivalry has preserved the "bounce" of a moment when things in the world weren't so messed up. Rika's chapter comes close to illuminating the darkness too, but she acknowledges its weight and dreams of a time when she'll be able to patch it up.

I don't know if any of that made sense, but you can be sure that I'm getting REALLY curious.

Nice. Next!
