I love this story so far, and I'm eagerly looking forward to your getting a chance to work on it some more. This is a fascinating AU, and one that I hope you will work with in the future when this story is done. If it's not just overwhelming Real Life that's causing you to question your ability to finish this tale, may I recommend "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. Even without working the structure of the book, just using the Morning Pages and Affirmations every day are a great help for working through creativity issues, and real life hassles, too. My writing flows the best it has ever done when I'm consistent about writing Morning Pages, and it's also helped me do things like work through the last of the grief from the death of my mother. I empathise with you with the whole - DH which side is Severus on scariness...
This is really interesting though, especially the idea of Confessors - more of the mind-melding than overwhelming love...which is better or more useful or something... :)

The trio must be very close now I suppose, what with Harry having seen everything of Ron and Hermione. Eep - having your soul stripped bare before someone... scary.

Awesome! I hope you'll update soon. I don't know if I understood the Confessor thingy right, though. Harry is First Confessor and thats another freaky superpowert thing that makes him different but he somehow managed to share that with Hermione and Ron, right? It would be interesting to see how the Ministry reacted to that. They can't have been too happy to have Harry as someone with an ancient claim to authority in the lay enforcement department. The way you write this reminds me of one of my fav films, Equilibrium. They've got these cool dudes, the Cleriker, dunno how the are called in English, but the Confessor thing reminds me of them. All strict codex, meaningful phrases... Yay. Keep going.
