Excellent story. Good characterization, and it was fun seeing how the yeerks get the right type of people to want them in their heads.

I thought this was a really interesting and plausible look at why one would become a Controller voluntarily. You evoke that teenage uncertainty and awkwardness really well. In the books the Anis tend to rubbish voluntary controllers, but we know that they target the insecure. With Chris, you've presented a really good scenario showing how the Yeerks prey on his weaknesses and manipulate him into accepting them. Although I get the feeling Chris will come to regret his decision (unlike other fics I've read where a more symbiotic relationship forms), I like that you ended the fic in a place where he was complicit in his status as a Controller.

A couple of small quibbles: even considering the "no one would believe it if you talked argument, I think a person would be forcibly infested after seeing V3. And the last chapter was a little hurried. Still, a great story overall! I enjoyed reading this, thanks for writing.

Go Terenia! All of the elements are in place in this story. The pacing is right and it doesn't seem like it would be out of place in the Ani-world at all. A great chapter to a great story. But just one question, where are his parents?

A very enjoyable read. I didn't necessarily agree with various details of the plot (Chris being played so blatantly, and his being allowed to see Visser Three without being immediately infested), but the journey itself felt justified. Steve's speech in Chapter 6 was absolutely perfect.

I love Christopher's character, first off. o.o His reasons and motivations just felt...so fleshed out, and real, and the undercurrent of conspiracy from Alicia's Yeerk as she ran off with Tom, seriously just the ambiguity of the story and the uncertainty makes this a well rounded read. Uncertainty, I'd say is a huge theme in this story... Like you don't really know what's going on behind the eyes of the hosts, you're not completely sure if Alicia's Yeerk was doing what she truly wanted since she was involuntary, suspicions rise, it's just... Amazingly well done, and developed. The story really nails a point made in the first book, (I'm not sure where exactly, but I know it was the first. ^^; ) that the Yeerks trick people into becoming voluntary, and yet here, in this fic, you can see where voluntary Controllers come from.


Plus, I love reading the views of Controllers, both involuntary AND voluntary, but voluntary reads you don't really get too many of. I thought the last chapter might have been a little rushed, but with how Tom's story was covered simultaneously with Christopher's, that's very easily forgiveable. ^.^ Keep up the awesome writing!

it was good, very good, nice detail a great way to tie things into the original story without changing anything, and to top it off an indepth view of a voluntary controller something that is most troublesome to grasp at and pin down.

This looks like a great story and i can't wait for the next chapter.
