I read this story and you have Gai's character hands down. I like how his mother has those "gentle reprimands" that shows a future connection between him and Lee with punishing him. Then with his ojiisan wanting to talk forever, now who does that remind you of? Hm, Gai? Haha. When you had the interactions between Kakashi and his team and Gai I thought they were set perfectly with a little yondaime-sensei as well. Kakashi's all "but sensei it's 13-13." *twitch* and running away at the end made my day. You're right, there should be more Gai-related stories out there. Definitely one of the best Kakashi and Gai friendship one-shots I've read though.

I love Gai! Seriously, he's one of my favorite characters (at the very least top 10). It's kind of weird to read about him without Rock Lee though...

When a friend told me about a "good story featuring Gai-sensei" I didn't believe her, but you've proved me wrong! He strikes me as a difficult character to get right, but you've done a very good job. I loved the last bit with Kakashi. Thanks for writing!
