I love it that Touko is the aggressive one here. I can so see it that way because Touko's personality dictates she would do these things while Yumi I think is more reserved in nature. I love this! Thanks muchly for writing the pairing because there's hardly anything on them and they deserve so much more love imo!

I thoroughly enjoyed Yuuki's presence in this chapter. He is so concerned with his sister's well being and you've made it a plainly clear here.

I've always enjoyed how cautious he is with Yumi and how much he cares for her. It's just how a loving brother should be towards his sister.

And the magazines, ROTFLMAO!

Seeing Touko's side of the story, that is, her reasoning for rejecting Yumi's offering, is very interesting. I think you've made a viable reason for her initial denial by implying that Touko doesn't want to "step on Sachiko's toes" when Yumi's involved.

It's easy to see that after all Yumi and Sachiko have been through Touko doesn't want to get in the way of their love. Even though nothing will actually come of it. Still, she cares for them both and wants what's best for them and doesn't want to be the cause of unhappiness between them.

Although we as readers know that she is not completely acurate in thinking that, as we know that Sachiko and Yumi will never be together, and to some degree so does she. But then there's the bit of jealousy that she feels when comparing herself to Sachiko with regards to Yumi's love; and feeling inadequite thinking that Yumi will never love her the same way that Yumi loves Sachiko.

All of this would certainly cause her heart and mind to be confused as to what to do. We see that she obviously wants to be with Yumi yet she is conflicted and torn between her loyalties and desires.

You've certainly indicated this in a way that makes a reader sympathize more with Touko's reasoning and actions. Most people don't like Touko because of her way of expressing herself towards Yumi. But if someone were to step back and take a closer look, they would see that she only holds Yumi's, and Sachiko's, best interests in heart. While trying to throw away her own interests, which is actually considered a noble thing to do.

I love Noriko's protectiveness with Touko. We don't get to see many people lining up to defend Touko and I believe that Noriko has made a perfect example of what a good friend could be, even if Touko doesn't know it. But I guess that's what makes a good friend. She genuinely cares for Touko and wants what's best for her... even if that means going up against a grande soeur to see that through. I'm really enjoying the story thus far and will now read on ahead.

This was the first (and at this moment the only) Marimite fanfic I've read and I'm glad it was yours. It is very well written and I thought you really caught the characters perfectly. From Sachikos loyalty to her family to Toukos simple stubbornness. It all felt very 'in character'.

Although Sachikos fate was very tragic you still managed to make Yumi and Touko shine together, and that's remarkable.

Thank you for opening my eyes to Marimite fandom, I hope I'll see more fics of this quality, and thank you for a great experience.

Great story, I was skeptical about a Yumi x Touko pairing at first since I'm a loyal Yumi x Sachiko fan but you've convinced me, I like the idea of them together, not that I've completely given up on Sachiko.

This pairing is so cute! I love Touko, she is one of my favorite characters! there should def be more Touko/Yumi stories. those who dislike Touko simply do not understand her. but i loved the fic keep up the good work ;)
