| MadLizzy 2008-01-17 ch 1,  | abuseI couldn't resist a story entitled, "The Swallow," not when it was written by JennyWren. This is a rare gem mixed into the sluice. I enjoyed every word of it, and was increasingly excited as I read to find that it got better and better the farther it progressed. It is wonderfully imaginative and creative, and best of all, original. It isn't sappy in the least. It hints of genius, and I am eager to explore your work and find what else you have hidden there. The only suggestion I'd have for any improvement (and I offer this humbly) is to change one word: in the sentence, "She was at the opera long enough to know who was speaking if one could hear a voice, but not see anyone," I would suggest changing the word "one" to "she". I stumbled over two "ones" in close proximity, and thought this might be a tiny change for the better. Yours, ML |
