The Daring Hat Trick
2009-11-11 . chapter 23
Now /this/ is a fantastic piece of Nolan-esque Batman fanfiction. I meant to start with the two stories that came before this, but I got sucked in from page one and kept going until now. Spending five hours reading something on is a new record for me.

I love what you have done with the characters and how you've realistically blended Robin into this Batman universe. Dick... I mean, Rick retains all his charm, cleverness and teenagehood in one convincing package. Thank goodness you didn't turn Bruce into the brooding stiff that a lot of authors seem to favor as of late; Bruce and Rick's interactions are natural, friendly, but with just the shadow of the wall that will eventually build up between them.

You also write one hell of an escalating situation!

I really do hope you'll be able to free up some time in the near future and post up the next installment. You've just roped in another faithful reader.

Cheers.

Please, finish this. Abandoned stories make me sad, and I blew off my homework this whole weekend reading your trilogy.

What I mean is, I really like this (especially more than I like trig). Great job on this chapter--and the story and series as a whole, too.

I suspect I may be too late for the PM, but I've been meaning to review this story for a while anyway, so, hello, you're officially awesome.
You write Richard so well. Also, yay, Somerville. In fact, all your OCs and supporting characters are perfect.
Good luck with the next chapter! (They're so long. It's amazing.)

Wow, nice progress since the last time I had Net access. Good story, interesting plot/mystery. No constructive criticism or comments, to speak of.

Well damn.. this is one horrible situation suddenly made WORSE.
...to think Bruce sent Rick there to ensure his safety...

oh... The twisted paths between reality and fiction... who's the other Woman? Ingrid Betancour?

I love Dr. Marques, he looks like one of those guys who know about arts and music and philosophy and physics but still have no idea where they left their glasses! X3
And I like Rick here! … breaking through the window was stupid… not his brightest moment… but we can excuse him this one time because he’s a Teenager With Issues!
;p
Too bad for the commissioner, because 20,0 people are running wild around the city, and both me (your beloved reader!) and Batman, are more worried about the kidnapped teenager on the other hemisphere!
…I think, given the circumstances, that Bruce has a very good alibi for leaving Seline, “did you hear, Selina? My ward/son/baby has gone missing after I stupidly sent him to the Colombian Rain forest!”

On other news... Happy B-day! =D didn’t review the other chapter but it’s never TOO LATE!!

Amazing, like always. What was Rick doing jumping through the window though?
I have to say, I missed miss Somersville. I loved Rick's disguise, I would have never thought of that, I love the little details like that, it makes the story great.
Please update soon!

Yay! Finally I almost wondered if she was still in the story!
I can't believe the complexity of this chapter. It's so interesting how you mash up the timelines and it still works so well. I was actually confused at the beginning when Alfred tells Alex that someone other than Rick is coming before I realized what you said in the next paragraph or so...that there couldn't be even a hint that it was Rick cause of the sheer danger of anyone getting a whiff that a billionaire's son was stepping foot in the highest-kiddnapping-rate country. I truly can't wait to see what they do next. Somerville will be very key to helping them decide how and when to extricate themselves from that situation. Please update soon! (And yes, I would love a deleted scene! :P)

Woot woot! Somerville is back, so exciting! This is gonna be great! Can't wait for more, as usual. This chapter was very good, enjoy Alex's insights, especially since he doesn't get Bruce. Happy writing!

Interesting chapter. A little hard to keep track of things if your not fully paying attention, but it does work well. Good stuff, looking forward to the next part!

Wow, another great update! I always get excited about updates from you because I know that they mean real quality writing. You have a gift for writing, and you use it well!

It's uber late, but I wanted to give a review now, partially so I wouldn't forget, and partially because I wanted the deleted scene, but mostly because you are such a fantastic writer that you deserve reviews!!

Just keep doing what you're doing, 'cause it sure is working!

Hurray for deleted scenes! I'm really looking forward to it too, cause I've always liked Alex, so more of him is never a bad thing. And quite frankly, I'm totally into him figuring out Bruce's and Richard's nighttime activities, so any insight he gets into Bruce and his motivations is awesome. And this whole situation is going to just drive Bruce batty (no pun intended, of course). On another note, hurray for Somerville returning, she was sorely missed.
