Reviews for: The Diamond of Ahm Shere - Page 1 of 3
Freyalyn 5/25/11 . chapter 9
Excellent story! I can see how you think it ran away with you like a galloping horse, but you didn't fall off and kept control of the end destination like a good 'un.

Really enjoyed this. Jonathan finally grows up.

Fantastic! And damned depressing, too - poor Ardeth and poor Jonathan having to live with the guilt. Really well written, an excellent adventure and I'm glad Jonathan was redeemed and forgiven.

I'd love to give an intelligent, thorough review of this, but I'm rather close to speechless at the moment.

You did this marvelously. You made them real, you made the world around them real, if only for a little while, and that's what it's all about.

*standing ovation*

interesting fic, you did a great job making up a new adventure for them and redeeming jonathan once and for all.

This is one of the best stories I've ever read. Jonathan is my fav character.

Alright, I feel compelled to stop by - I've been reading a few of your Mummy stories and been a right lurker. But then, after such a story, I can't be silent - bet you can hear my heart pounding in my chest, 'cause they must've been hearing it all the way to Australia (and I'm French).

You know, it's funny the way you relate to characters in films/books/whatever. You watch them, you think about them, you sympathise with them... Happens all the time. And one day, you find a character you can totally relate to - fanfiction is good for that. I can't begin to describe how your "Fourth Side of the Pyramid" and "Diamond of Ahm Shere" shook me - it's uncanny, how I, as a person, feel so familiar with the feelings you depict, of being slightly left out, not really part of the frame, like the one behind a camera: both there and not there.

But enough of my rambling, it's out of the point and it's not constructive criticism. It's always a delight to read an intelligent, well-crafted Jonathan story, where everybody is in character, with a thrilling plot and no Mary Sue around... Those are rarer, but too many still - sometimes I just feel like biting them! (toothy sadistic grin) But not only you handle perfectly your grammar and orthograph (you surely know the delight it is for any reader :o) but a good plot as well: complex but not complicated, simple but not simplistic, with little details that develop the characters and deepen our understanding of them.

Jeez, I think I might have got carried away, written a novel-length review and not even a proper one. Sorry about that... It's something of a dirty habit of mine. But it's a bit late in my time zone, so I'll leave it here - hope you don't mind.

Hey, there's one thing I do hope, it's that you'll be writing more Mummy stories - and that your muse is not gone too far. Mine does that, at times.

Much of love, and thanks very much for writing like this and making probably more people's days than you think!

Belphegor :o]

Just a last think, though... In the end, my humble opinion is that the real diamond behind the title might not be the obvious one ;)

A most spectacular fanfiction if I do say so myself. Brilliant - and very realistic! It could be a movie, such a well thought out plot and all. Like I said about your last piece of writing, bloody brilliant! :P

Cheers mate!

I loved this. There are so few stories that explore Jonathan's character and you made his "weaknesses" into a wonderful framework for your story.

AWESOME! OMG this was SOOSOSOSOSOSOSOSooooooooooo good! This is a great story well written, wonderful imagination, original concepts and Tremendously heart wrenching feelings! I hope you write more along these lines someday. Though I'm not sure how you could, the five sides have been revealed. But it is amazing and I wpuld like more! Keep up the great work!

Mornie alantie, may the light of night guide your way.

WOW! What a fantastic story. I admit, when I started out looking for Mummy fanfic I wasn't expecting to find much good stuff. This, however, was great! Loved your characterization of Jonathan- I'm viewing him in a different light now. And as always, mmmmmmm, Ardeth. Yummy. I was kind of hoping you'd resurrect his family, but I think that would have cheapened the story. Great job!
Ouroboros 7/26/01 . chapter 9
This is the best Mummy fic I have ever read. I loved that finally someone portayed Jonathan in a responsible, heroic light and did it in a mature and well-written fashion. I look forward to more of your stories!
Finding Beauty 7/25/01 . chapter 9
*sniff* Wow, that was good. One of the best serious portrayals I've seen of Jonathan - most people think he's intended only to be used in a comedic light. Not true. This and "The Fourth Side of the Pyramid" are excellent pieces. I hope to see more.
Abi4 7/25/01 . chapter 1
This is really cool, written and a good story. I'll read the rest later, I promise.
SezzaG 7/22/01 . chapter 9
WOW. That was just... WOW. I've been struck somewhat speechless by how incredibly AWESOME this story is. Jonathan finally having a destiny... the pain of Ardeth losing half his family... the illusion of Ahm Shere... Did I mention WOW? I think I'll have to re-read this one. _ Thanks for the fantastic read!
