TJ 2008-02-09 ch 6, anon.	abuseThis chapter brought out a whole side of Eric that we would never see on the show, but a side that I think could actually be there. Vulnerability in a character that always seems so resilient is a great added touch. This whole relationship seems like it could actually occur in real life. Some stories just don't portray that, but this one certainly does!

I don’t think Eric’s troubles were dealt with as much as they should have been on the show and it’s nice to see more fics out there depicting that time. Normally, people (myself included) merely touch upon it as a dark time, them go on to forget about it as their stories develop onwards. So I’m glad you’re spent more time on it. Now, you asked me to tell you what I thought of Shauna. I immediately liked her. Mainly, I think, because Eric liked her. I don’t know, it was the strange familiarity between the two, the fact they were finishing off each others’ sentences when they had only met a few hours before. I liked it, despite the fact I liked Eric with a certain other woman. I also like the fact she has Delko flustered. Few women can do that to him, and I love it! I think she was concerned, but not overly so, about Eric. At first, I was thinking you were presenting her as one of those obsessive ‘we’ve been on one date I’m in love with you’ people, but after reading on (and hearing that phone message) I like the fact she was worried, but off hand about it. It really worked. Like I said, so far. I like her. She seems nice and I look forward to seeing where you’re taking this). Great job, honey. Jodie

I liked how she called him out on his smooth moves, 'She laughed again, laying her head in the crook of his neck. “The technique is outdated,” she responded, “but it was executed perfectly.”' It's nice to see Eric, who always comes off as a bit of a ladies man, slightly unsure of himself and eager to please. I especially liked his thinking here, 'I like the sound of that, he thought. It’s like I have a clean slate with her.' His honesty is refreshing. Looking forward to the next update.
