| Pups Paws 2008-04-24 ch 1, | abuse42 was my favorite episode...I just loved it. Haven't written about it, but I should eh... I don't think you read too much into it at all. I rather liked how he was worrying for Martha's sake. I love it when he shows some affection for the poor girl. I'm reading a book called Wetworld. Man, he shows affection for her and then he goes mad!! It's awesome Ten whump I swear!! But congrats. I like! |
| Kay 2008-04-22 ch 1, anon. | abuseWonderfully well written! You gave us a glimpse into the doctor's mind for a moment and gave a better answer then I could have come up with to why he was so frightened. I felt like that moment in 42 was so important as well, and I'm glad that you chose to write about it. |
| JJ Rust 2007-10-22 ch 1, | abuseReally good! Very, very rarely do we get to see the Doctor scared. I loved the reasons you gave him for the various things he feared. And Martha's thoughts were done very well, too. Keep up the good work. |

That episode was really good! :P U should like re-do all the episodes :D hehe In truth, seeing the Doctor how he was, having him admit to being scared, that had absolutely and completely terrified Martha. She had never seen the Doctor look so scared before. Granted she hadn’t been with him for that long, and all the while he may have been scared inside, but he’d never shown it before. When he’d given his own life facing the plasmovore, when they’d defeated murderous witches with Shakespeare, when they’d been trapped on the motorway, when they’d seen the Face of Boe die, when they’d battled the Daleks, when they’d seen Lazarus’s terrible experiment go wrong, all of those times when they’d faced death, in his eyes she’d never seen fear. She’d seen plenty of other things in his deep brown orbs: anger, sorrow, understanding, knowledge, pain, time, and sometimes joy and delight… but she’d never seen fear before. Not before today. The only time, she’d thought she’d caught a glimmer of it, was when she’d been kidnapped back in New New York. But it had been so brief, so quickly replaced with anger and outrage, that she’d thought she must’ve imagined it in her own terror. Really good description! However, months later, after Rose had wiped out the entire Dalek fleet using the Time Vortex, she offered a beam of hope every time things seemed hopeless. His new greatest fear had been that something bad, something irreversibly terrible would happen to his Rose. He’d had to watch that fear come true as well. He’d screamed in horror as Rose had hurtled toward the void, about to be sucked into nothingness. He’d considered letting go himself, for with Rose gone, so was his world. But he was too much of a coward. It had been Pete who’d saved her, and he was eternally grateful to him for that. The fact that he knew that Rose was safe and sound with her family, living her life away from him and away from danger, that was enough to give him the strength to carry on. And although there was no way he was going to admit this to her yet, Martha helped with that too. Oh I like it, really good interpretation! WO!! U should be erally proud of this!! :D Keep it up! | SenseOfTime 2007-06-19 ch 1, | abuseGreat one-shot! I reckon you're right, I think a large part og his fear was not knowing exactly what was happening to him, but also not being able to do anything to stop it! Brilliant job! |
| your.lazy.lover 2007-06-18 ch 1, | abuseomg that was amazing! i loved that episode and now im jealous that i didnt think of this idea... oh well great job!! -Liz |
| T'Kirr 2007-06-18 ch 1, | abuseWow, very nice. I've heard others agree the reason he was so scared was because it was a loss of control, that he could hurt others, including Martha. "...after Rose had wiped out the entire Dalek fleet using the Time Vortex, she offered a beam of hope every time things seemed hopeless. His new greatest fear had been that something bad, something irreversibly terrible would happen to his Rose." This line I thought was very powerful for the Doctor, as it marked a sudden change in his greatest fear. I thought it was an interesting idea to make the sun feel like the beginning of a regeneration... very insightful addition. Other insightful things throughout both perspectives. Perhaps when the Doctor had been staring into space when Martha came in is when all this was going through his head? |
