Devilishly interesting idea, although I have a hard time believing Mary was such an integral and willing participate in the Demon’s longterm plans. It appears that things are leaning towards Mary being one of those special kids too (at least of her generation) which then makes us ask the question if she was the ‘victorious one’ of her generation. If so, then even more questions and possibilities arise). I actually don’t want to believe something like that because, after all the boys have been through, the least they can hold onto is a decent memory of who their mother was and perhaps how far she may have gone to protect them in a good way. Very well done, with some areas needing grammatical improvement to help with the flow of the story. Thank you for sharing!

This, THIS is a gem in a world full of sweet!Mary fics (many of which I enjoy) ... very dark, fascinating twist on how Mary might have known the YED.

Ooh, interesting! I'd love to see whether Mary actually did have to go through the same 'trial' as Sam - as you point out, that would mean she was the 'winner' of her generation... And was her prize just to give birth to Sam, the next 'winner' (if only by default!)?

I think I feel even more sorry for the Winchesters now - they're really all born under a bad sign aren't they?
