Don't get discouraged by the lack of reviewers. It's well written and somewhat interesting. Most people are just put off by OCs. There's another REALLY good story where Naruto was adopted by a civilian woman who had just moved to Konoha to become an accountant of all things. I think it's called "Karma's Web". Point is, that story is incredibly good, both plot-wise and stylistically. But, it took a long time for people to notice it and start to review it due to the fact that it began from an OC's POV. The story description originally mentioned the fact that it was about an OC and that probably stopped a lot of people from even reading the first chapter. I think she's changed it to something more vague now.

This is was a very good fic even though the theme isn't completely new. What I especially liked was the fact that Kohaku didn't instantly accept Naruto. Most others of this genre simply make the 'OC' benign as a saint then proceed to bashing anyone who has done wrong to Naruto.

I do hope that any future presentation of Kohaku wouldn't be that of a perfect mother aside from those from Naruto's point of view (as most kids tend to think of their parents as perfect anyway).

Though I am curious as to how you would relay their relationships as. She is after all, for me at least, not your typical mother figure being that she's (from what i gather) twenty or in her early twenties, the leader of the Shinikaze Clan, and an ANBU operative(does she even have enough time for herself?). The question of how you present how she manages the responsibility for the aforementioned positions and a four year old child which the canon hints with Attention Deficit Disorder.

That said I'm glad I've read your fic. It was a refreshing, though not completely new, experience.
