abusei'm sorry, but you really didn't add anything to this scene for me. it seems like all you did was exchange "he" with "i" and vice versa. maybe if you really let us see what was going through mr. antolini's head instead of just copying j.d. salinger's words...

abuseI definitely agree with you about Mr. Antolini. He was probably my favorite character in the novel. Except for Holden, of course!

abuseWell, yeah. But what would you do if you woke up and your old teacher was stroking your head? I doubt you would stop to think about it from his point of view. I know I wouldn't. But it's an interesting take on that particular scene.

abuseAs far as grammar goes, you did a wonderful job on this piece - I was impressed with your vocabulary, and the lack of typos. However, that's pretty much where it ends. It almost seems like you didn't pay much attention to the book as you read it.
First off, James Castle was NOT suicidal. James Castle jumped out of his window because he was put into a terrible position. He didn't want to take back what he had said, and the guys in his room were torturing him, and it seemed that his only choice was to jump out of the window. NOWHERE in there is there a hint of depression, or emo-ness. Even if he WAS suicidal, no one would have known about it. James Castle was shy, kept to himself, and he wasn't close enough to Mr. Antolini for
