I always like when Vader acts more like Anakin would.
It's out of character (or is it – they are the same person after all) but exciting and funny.
I can imagine he feels like young Anakin during the moments of action
– with Jix standing behind him on a swoopbike :D

Companion piece sounds nice, but this story simply demands a sequel! This turn of events certainly changes things for everyone and I think another story by the talented Second-Last Herald-Mage is precisely what is necessary to do this, particular need justice. That said, I absolutely love it! I love the end so much. So very much. I wonder what will happen when Vader discovers the truth of Luke and Leia's bond and the ironic significance of his last words to her. I know you said that this is the last chapter, but update soon!

Interesting ending. I don't quite see Vader letting them go, but then I don't see him helping them quite like he did either. Still, I think you managed to make it work. You explained Vader's motive for wanting to catch Gledn, when a criminal of his type would normally be below Vader's notice. I still ended up feeling like Vader's character was a little off, but you were consistent with it and gave him enough depth that it worked.

I thought Luke's and Leia's characters were spot on. And how like Leia to do her own thing! The interaction between them was great as well.

Well, it ended a little sooner than I expected, but it was a good ending, really. I'm planning on going back and reading through this from the beginning again and sending you a pm with my overall thoughts.

As to this chapter...very good! I didn't really expect Vader to let them go that easily, but it was a pleasant surprise, nonetheless.
