Actually, I'd have to disagree with that. Shizuru might be devoted to Natsuki, yes. But she is not foolish. She is proud, educated, and an extraordinary diplomat, traits that would have made it exceedingly easy to climb the ranks even in a military state. Also, heck, the author has forgotten that Shizuru is a warrior at heart. The chances of her doing -that- for any MAN she hated are much much less than the chances of simply eliminating him as she did in the end. A lesser woman in her stead might have done the same, yes, but Shizuru Viola would never stoop to such a level.
The Shizuru featured in this fic might indeed be in 'character', so to speak, in her devotion to Natsuki. But her heart's been greatly weakened ("My love is no longer the same as yours?" Yet performing such base acts to keep track of the cobalt-haired woman? Paradoxical does not even begin to describe such a thing...) and the sheer -capability- we have learned to associate with Shizuru is simply not there.
I'd have to state that pale shadow would have never made it through Garderobe, much less earn the title of 'Beguiling Amethyst' were the setting reverted to the original. This Shizuru is simply too weak and stupid.

I really think you did this story justice. I'm glad I found your page on another person's site, especially since I can't read Chinese I wouldn't have been able read this story.

The author is a very good writer. The detail and interactions were very interesting. I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter.

I know you translated the story and for some reason most of the ones you do translate are somewhat depressing. This one honestly put tears in my eyes, the first Shizuru x Natsuki story to do so. My heart honestly ached for them even though they would be together forever in the after life. It was simply wonderful and extremely touching.

translating fluff... if you think it's done well go for it. Are you ever going to write something yourself instead of bringing other peoples work to light? I'm just curious what you yourself would come up with. It might proof worthwhile and possibly far more satisfying to you.

Alright, here we go. This is going to be the death of me... Ahh, I'm happy. Shizuru finally accepted. And I shouldn't be (happy) since Natsuki died, and so much happened, but even so...that they could be together... Aie, I'm almost crying. That was so wonderfully worth it though. Tell the author she's amazing? And again, thanks for all your effort translating.
