abuseMy friend, this was an absolutely beautiful piece of writing. I enjoyed it very much. I was disappointed that, in the anime, after a time...Lady Jarjayes did not make another appearance. How broken-hearted she must have been, to lose her last, youngest, child. The first paragraph is lovely, especially the line about the piano. "You'd play when it would rain outside. Well, it is raining, Oscar. It rains so heavily..."

Lady Jarjayes was a most amazing character who did not get much screentime, but was still just so wonderful. How could you help but like her when Oscar cared for her so much, herself?

My only critique is that I do think that Lady Jarjayes would have known of André, since Oscar is buried by his side (as his wife). (And André and Oscar's men must have said something...one of them, at least, or no one would have known of their last wishes.)

Her thoughts about what it might be like to die were good, too...

Ahh, the poor woman. I really feel sorry for her, here. She's torn about her past decisions, though none were really her fault... And to think of her daughter, so strong and brave though unfailingly soft-hearted... To think of her being shot full of bullets like that? It must have really hurt Oscar's mother terribly. To think that someone--many "someone's" would be cruel enough to do such a thing to her baby...ah...well...

This 'fic made me think. A lot. And it's absolutely beautiful.

Take care,
Cheers,

abuseExcellent choice of words and so deeply moving! How I wish there are more RoV fanfics like this. It's so true that there's hardly any fic out there concerning Madame de Jarjayes, whose character has never been very developed, yet you captured her so perfectly. Please do write more RoV stories soon!

abuseYou're so right. I've never heard Madame Jarjayes' voice in fanfiction. I love it. It's so unique. You can feel the mother's suffering from losing her child.
So sad, but so touching.
I hope this won't be your last RoV story. Keep on writing.
Luna.
