That was beautiful! You have an amazing grasp on the characters voices and your imagery was fantastic. I love that you did an airbender type marriage ritual. I have seen soooooo many katara/aang joinings that are waterbender. This was very creative and moving.

love the part about the tattoo. a lot of these fanfics play with aang giving katara a necklace with air nomads colours, but i've thought about the idea of giving them tattoos as well.

THIS is what angst should truly be. You've done a wonderful job of reminding the reader of what, exactly, Aang has gone through without dipping into "wah poor me why does everything happen to me?", which is what too many people do nowadays. Showing, not telling, is the key, and you have succeeded.

The idea that Katara needed to personally experience the slaughter of the Air Nomads in order to fully understand Aang is one that is beautiful and truly unique. With all the generic "Katara comforting Aang" fics out there, it's nice to see something that feels *real*.

Aang's ghosts, and the resultant nightmares, are something that so few authors address, even fewer with the depth of understanding that you have exhibited. Katara's response to her newly found understanding, and her depth of hurt, as well as a new found understanding of Aang's true anguish that he has held buried for so long, is so beautifully rendered by you with your paintbrush full of words. Thank you for painting this picture for us.
