Interesting piece to say the least. Good character development, and it holds the reader's interest. If there's any more, I'd enjoy reading it.

It's a really good story, with just one problem: Dr. Gerald's supposed to be kind-hearted; he wouldn't eliminate a whole race of echidnas just to get at the emeralds. Also, I thought it was Chaos, not Dr. Gerald, who eliminated them.
