great stuff. cant wait to find out what happens next.

oh, i wonder if anyone will notice shinji's involvement which chloe?

and the Mireillequarium would be a not bad idea for an omake when those come to light.

And so Chloe's secret is out. This does put us in the interesting position of SEELE hunting Gendo and not even knowing it. Pardon me while I drink in the irony.

...

Okay I'm done. Personally I hope to see the Soldats secret archives uncovered. The chaos would be entertaining. Never mind that is certainly puts truth to the song "Everything You Know is Wrong" heh.

Nice how Kirika and Chloe's wierd relationship has come out and become a soap opera for the school. Hopefully there will be more to enjoy.

So Rei will be coming back to try her hand at wet work and Tabris will, most likely, soon become fully active. I do hope to see those two trip on each other. Esspecially if Gendo has used the Soldats cloning project to reistablish the Reiquarium.

Thanks for the fic. It has been an enjoyable read.

What about WW1 and WW2?

Were they planned by Les Soldats too?

You stepped into something, now you got to roll with it.

Congratulations on being the first fanfic writer who proposed the idea that Jeanne d'Arc was related to Noir. Given the characteristics of Jeanne match the description of a Noir perfectly, it is quite interesting that no fanfic writer has proposed the idea before. There is more than enough material written about Jeanne that I will not do justice to write about her in this comment.

A nod/tribute to Jeanne d'Arc actually *did appear* in the Noir anime. At the place of rendez-vous between Mireille and Remi Breffort, Basilique du Sacre-Coeur, there is an equestrian statue of Jeanne d'Arc. You can see the statue at the scene right after when the bells ring, where the front of the Basilica is shown. Jeanne is the statue on the right side of the screen.

Another historical figure who also fits the description of Noir is Charlotte Corday. She murdered the Jacobin leader Jean-Paul Marat during the French Revolution era. For this crime she was executed with the guillotine.

A little shorter than you other chapers, but fileld with enough content to keep things interesting. So I'll start off there.
1-Yes, considering the sortie's the group goes through on a regular basis, it would be natural to assume that they'd need painkillers. This was never mentioned in the canon, since most of the time Shinji gets back from piloting he ends up int eh hospital where they can give him drugs via injection or drip.
2-You started this chapter by introducing a member of Section 2 and going over the history or series of events that started from Chloe's arrival and on through the last Angel battle. It also brings to mind that Kensuke is still a bit of an idiot.
3-Kirika actually told Misato and the others what was happening, by figuring oout that Chloe was the half-Angel. While this was to be expected, in some degree, I was a little shocked that NERV actually decided to NOT eliminate her. I mean they already had a reason to hate her, given that she has taken out several Section 2 agents, but now that she could possibly cause a Third Impact, should have given them reason to be more... worried?
4-You never did say what happened to Kensuke. Did he return to class?
5-I have to admit that Kirika is rather blunt about things. Though in her defense that is most likely from her training. And she is pretty good about figuring things out, giving a very detailed explanation of how and why and even who was responsible.
6-And it is rather disturbing to think that Les Soldat can create half-Angel assassins with the same skills as Chloe. Worse, an entire army of them with an Angel's power and Chloe's skills would be... a nightmare. The possible weapons potential would be a disaster.
7-And it's nice to see that they were actually nice to Chloe when the results came back. Especially Asuka. I mean, if things had been different, and Chloe didn't have the experiences that she had now, she would have killed everyone she was ordered too. Which would have included Asuka, Shinji, Misato, everyone. Though with her new Angelic abilities, would even Kirika be able to take her? Kinda doubt it.
8-And really, getting the internal history of Les Soldat and how many lives they have actually influenced, as well as world/historical events, was really interesting. I suppose this is easy to accomplish since the myth of Joan of Arc can be interpretted in a variety of ways. And someone of Noir's skills in any conflict, even today, could be considered nothing but god-like. And then you have other mentions of history, such as the Tokugawa Shogunate and the like. That was actually a pretty good addition to the story.
9-And it's actually funny to see that Kirika can be frustrated by the very thing that Asuka would have relished. The whole hero-worship thing. I mean... if Asuka had the same skills as Kirika (which is kind of a scary thought) she would have been considered nothing short of a hero in her homeland. Of course you have to wonder just what an Asuka with Kirika-level skill would do with those abilities.
Take for example her first meeting with Shinji, Misato, Toji and Kensuke on the 'Over The Rainbow'. Instead of slapping them for looking at her panties, by accident, she might have snapped their necks or jabbed their necks, which would have killed them.
10-And you still haven't made any serious revelations as to who Chloe should be paired up with. Kirika or Shinji. She seems to like Shinji, but still has strong feelings for Kirika and all. And now you have rumors of her being a lesbian spreading around the school. Then again, if Nagisa is putting her off, then going lesbian would be logical in most cases. The only thing that might make Chloe gravitate toward Shinji more would be is Nagisa, revealed to be an Angel, tried to force himself upon Chloe, and Shinji comes to her rescue in his Eva, taking his head off, which is what Chloe would have liked to do. (Just a thought)
11-And does Hikari know about Kirika and Chloe being Noir? I didn't get that feeling from the lunchtime conversation. Just that they had some kind of history, or some unfinished business and all.
12-And SEELE isn't coming off too bright, or even that much aware of what has happened, that the mysterious 'Angel Assassin' might make things worse for their scenario. It's kinda like a blind-spot and such.
13-And now Gendo and Rei are getting ready for their final showdown, and with their own goals still their 'guiding star' as it were. And they seem to have about as much information as SEELE does.
14-I also notice that SEELE and Les Soldat have about the same kind of anonymity, if Gendo can take over as the Les Soldat persona so easily without anyone knowing, the same could be done for Les Soldat taking over one of the SEELE members. So unless they each get together and have lunch with each other like on Sunday's or something, there is no way to know who is who, or trust each other to complete their plans.
It's just a thought.
15-And it would be funny to have a Mireillequarium like Rei. You could have made it up like an omake or something. Though it does bring up a thought: your characters are still going on the assumtion that Rei was cloned from Kirika. Are you going to reveal that it was actually Yui Ikari Rei was cloned from, or are you just going to let it go, like it's an unnecessary detail?

Well, that's all from me. Good chapter, and good luck with this.

Another great chapter. I have to wonder if Gendo is a) ignorant, b) stupid, or c) desperate sending Rei after Chloe.

Also, a /-sign is missing from the chapter title, in the navigation box.

Oh boy...this is getting more and more interesting by the minute. Now the question is...how will they deal with both Nagisa AND Rei?

Cool update. Now on to the review.

1-That was pretty cool of Mireille, using her reputation as Noir to get thLes Sodat members to talk.
2-Asuka learns about her cousin's life and isn't happy that she had a part to play in her parents death. (Am I mistaken or, considering it has been a while, did Chloe kill her her own parents, and didn't remember that fact?)
3-Yeah, Asuka would have called her a liar, a lunatic, and tried to attack Kirika for such slander. Not that it would have done her any good.
4-And Ritsuko finally comes to the realization that Gendo didn't care anything for her. Wow! Shocker! Some genius she is! I mean, she knew the guy was a ruthless, amoral ** who would sacrifice his own flesh-and-blood in a second, and it didn't cross her mind that he would sacrifice HER as well?
5-I like each of the reactions from the pilots to seeing the Rei-quarium. Shinji is angry; Asuka feels inadequate; Kirika is scared. I mean... if Shinji had known about this sooner he could have had another ally against his father. As a result, she is nothing but the thing/person that his own father chose over him and his sister. Asuka's fear of inadequacy is based upon the thought/possibility that she isn't special, that she and others can be replaced like that. (Didn't Star Trek the Next Generation do an episode like that?) And Kirika's fear is based upon the fact that is these clones continued to exist, if this method was to be perfected, Les Soldat would be able to do whatever they wanted. She would never be free of them.
6-And now Ritsuko's gone loopy. Wonderful. Guess she had good reason to laugh like a mad scientist, though.
7-And now Kirika comes to the realization that she can't blame Chloe for her past, since technically she doesn't remember it. She comes to the realization that Chloe is a clone, and thus not responsible for her actions. Which means that she could be able to forgive her and be friends with her. Nice how that revelation comes about after witnessing dozens of clones die.
8-Yeah, I'm sure Asuka would be confused about this, without a proper explanation and all. Hell, I still don't get it.
9-Yeah, Kaworu does seem insane to not being able to take 'no' for an answer. But, in his defense, he's not human and doesn't understand human customs. It's a sad excuse, but still. And what's more, I can only imagine him trying to win Chloe over, by giving her a whole family set of silverware. I'm thinking she might use them as weapons, kinda like, throwing them at Kaworu and making a silverware-outline of him against a wall or a door.
10-And now the 16th Angel has arrived, and is doing a better job at dealing with the Eva's than in the canon. Don't you just hate surprises?
11-Yeah, it must have been tough for Chloe to admit that she was the one who killed the Section 2 commander and a dozen of their best men. (I stress the word 'best' since they all died in one night) It must also be frustrating for Section 2 to be guarding the very person who killed their boss and they can't get any revenge for him.
12-And Chloe used her field to distract the Angel and give the pilots a chance to kill it. Though I have to give the Angel credit. Even dying it tried to get to Chloe, which it thought was Adam. You have to admire that kind of determination. Or is it single-mindedness?
13-Well, Kaworu was right, that Armisael was winning and probably would have claimed victory had it not been for Chloe. But he doesn't know it's Chloe, right? I mean, he's stalking her, so shouldn't he have realized this? It would have explained why he felt so attracted to her. Then again, that means he has a 'father-complex'.
14-Last thing I will say, that 'Hitotsu' thing was pretty cleaver. Also, technically Rei-1 couldn't be held responsible for killing Ritsuko's mother, since Gendo ordered Rei-1 to say that to Naoko.

Cool update and nicely written. Noticed a couple errors, but nothing to get in a twist over.
Look forward to the next installment.

Nice work again. The misunderstanding regarding the purpose of the Reiquarium was most pleasing. Given their perspective I wonder if one could call it an act of one woman mass-suicide? Also I like how Kirika figured out that Chloe is a clone. I look forward to seeing how Chloe will respond once the bomb of being Nephilhim is droped on her.

Good work in setting things up so that Ritsuko will talk. Given the thought patterns I am sure her singing will be quiet informative to her interrogators.

The way Mirelle used symbolism to play those Soldats agents was also well put.

I look forward to seeing where this will go. Thanks for the work.

Great chapter. The Rei clone scene and the Kirika-Asuka talks was especially good. Kind of nice the way you made it a bit unclear who was going to terminate the clones, Shinji, Asuka or Kirika.
Nothing really wrong with the angel fight, the way you solved it was elegant, it just felt very anti-climactic, with so much else going on.

Hmm...

The reaction of NERV to the fact that Les Soldat has Adam is going to be big.

Gendo Ikari may yet have his way.

Though I'm curious as to what this means for Chloe? She is after all, if the term can be used, innocent in the whole affair. So when Kaworu learns of the fact that Chloe is just a clone...

That's going to be explosive.

Though it also begs the question...

Will this story be a Chloe/Kirika and a Shinji/Asuka?

Also, what of Touji? Will he become a pilot sooner or later or not at all?

Then there's the use of the cloning facilities. If used for the good of all of humanity... well...

How versed are you in Halo?
