gunman 2009-10-30 . chapter 25 Cool update. Now on to the review.
1-That was pretty cool of Mireille, using her reputation as Noir to get thLes Sodat members to talk.
2-Asuka learns about her cousin's life and isn't happy that she had a part to play in her parents death. (Am I mistaken or, considering it has been a while, did Chloe kill her her own parents, and didn't remember that fact?)
3-Yeah, Asuka would have called her a liar, a lunatic, and tried to attack Kirika for such slander. Not that it would have done her any good.
4-And Ritsuko finally comes to the realization that Gendo didn't care anything for her. Wow! Shocker! Some genius she is! I mean, she knew the guy was a ruthless, amoral ** who would sacrifice his own flesh-and-blood in a second, and it didn't cross her mind that he would sacrifice HER as well?
5-I like each of the reactions from the pilots to seeing the Rei-quarium. Shinji is angry; Asuka feels inadequate; Kirika is scared. I mean... if Shinji had known about this sooner he could have had another ally against his father. As a result, she is nothing but the thing/person that his own father chose over him and his sister. Asuka's fear of inadequacy is based upon the thought/possibility that she isn't special, that she and others can be replaced like that. (Didn't Star Trek the Next Generation do an episode like that?) And Kirika's fear is based upon the fact that is these clones continued to exist, if this method was to be perfected, Les Soldat would be able to do whatever they wanted. She would never be free of them.
6-And now Ritsuko's gone loopy. Wonderful. Guess she had good reason to laugh like a mad scientist, though.
7-And now Kirika comes to the realization that she can't blame Chloe for her past, since technically she doesn't remember it. She comes to the realization that Chloe is a clone, and thus not responsible for her actions. Which means that she could be able to forgive her and be friends with her. Nice how that revelation comes about after witnessing dozens of clones die.
8-Yeah, I'm sure Asuka would be confused about this, without a proper explanation and all. Hell, I still don't get it.
9-Yeah, Kaworu does seem insane to not being able to take 'no' for an answer. But, in his defense, he's not human and doesn't understand human customs. It's a sad excuse, but still. And what's more, I can only imagine him trying to win Chloe over, by giving her a whole family set of silverware. I'm thinking she might use them as weapons, kinda like, throwing them at Kaworu and making a silverware-outline of him against a wall or a door.
10-And now the 16th Angel has arrived, and is doing a better job at dealing with the Eva's than in the canon. Don't you just hate surprises?
11-Yeah, it must have been tough for Chloe to admit that she was the one who killed the Section 2 commander and a dozen of their best men. (I stress the word 'best' since they all died in one night) It must also be frustrating for Section 2 to be guarding the very person who killed their boss and they can't get any revenge for him.
12-And Chloe used her field to distract the Angel and give the pilots a chance to kill it. Though I have to give the Angel credit. Even dying it tried to get to Chloe, which it thought was Adam. You have to admire that kind of determination. Or is it single-mindedness?
13-Well, Kaworu was right, that Armisael was winning and probably would have claimed victory had it not been for Chloe. But he doesn't know it's Chloe, right? I mean, he's stalking her, so shouldn't he have realized this? It would have explained why he felt so attracted to her. Then again, that means he has a 'father-complex'.
14-Last thing I will say, that 'Hitotsu' thing was pretty cleaver. Also, technically Rei-1 couldn't be held responsible for killing Ritsuko's mother, since Gendo ordered Rei-1 to say that to Naoko.
Cool update and nicely written. Noticed a couple errors, but nothing to get in a twist over.
Look forward to the next installment.

DarkJackel 2009-10-27 . chapter 25Nice work again. The misunderstanding regarding the purpose of the Reiquarium was most pleasing. Given their perspective I wonder if one could call it an act of one woman mass-suicide? Also I like how Kirika figured out that Chloe is a clone. I look forward to seeing how Chloe will respond once the bomb of being Nephilhim is droped on her.
Good work in setting things up so that Ritsuko will talk. Given the thought patterns I am sure her singing will be quiet informative to her interrogators.
The way Mirelle used symbolism to play those Soldats agents was also well put.
I look forward to seeing where this will go. Thanks for the work.

CJNyfalt 2009-10-26 . chapter 25Great chapter. The Rei clone scene and the Kirika-Asuka talks was especially good. Kind of nice the way you made it a bit unclear who was going to terminate the clones, Shinji, Asuka or Kirika.
Nothing really wrong with the angel fight, the way you solved it was elegant, it just felt very anti-climactic, with so much else going on. |
James Axelrad 2009-10-25 . chapter 25great stuff. worth the wait. i hope the next installment is released soon.
curious though, what about gendo and rei? better yet, what would happen if some of ritsuko's musings made it into the public? |
 Kiros Razer 2009-10-24 . chapter 25I enjoyed this chapter very much.^^ |
 F-14 Tomcat Lover 2009-10-23 . chapter 25Hmm...
The reaction of NERV to the fact that Les Soldat has Adam is going to be big.
Gendo Ikari may yet have his way.
Though I'm curious as to what this means for Chloe? She is after all, if the term can be used, innocent in the whole affair. So when Kaworu learns of the fact that Chloe is just a clone...
That's going to be explosive.
Though it also begs the question...
Will this story be a Chloe/Kirika and a Shinji/Asuka?
Also, what of Touji? Will he become a pilot sooner or later or not at all?
Then there's the use of the cloning facilities. If used for the good of all of humanity... well...
How versed are you in Halo? |
SulliMike23 2009-10-22 . chapter 25I wonder what Kirika had written on that letter. Well, whatever it was, I hope we find out soon. |
CJNyfalt 2009-10-07 . chapter 24Great chapter. I'm looking forward to seeing more. Especially talk between Asuka and Chloe, and having all the Noirs and pilots sit down and talk. |
Kiros Razer 2009-09-27 . chapter 24Excellent chapter, I really liked it.
Looking forward to reading more. |
James Axelrad 2009-09-25 . chapter 24this is really great stuff.
things are definitely heating up for everyone.
if possible, any chance at the next chap having some stuff centered on the pilots again? till then! |
James Axelrad 2009-09-25 . chapter 23geez. no half measures in this chap are there.
cant wait to get started on the nest chap! |
DarkJackel 2009-09-25 . chapter 24I like the treatment you are giving to the fact that the Noir girls skill sets are extremely deap in the ways of death but lack much breadth beyond the killing arts. Moreover one must wonder when the investigation will unviel the tank of the Reis and Ritsuko's Frankenstien-esque work. Oh man the media would LOVE that. I can just see it, "Deranged commander of NERVE and mad scientist lover makes an army of half-Angel clones of Wife." Heck just the facts are so scandelous any lack of journalism could be called white-washing what he did.
Wonder if this might lead to Chloe learning she is now a half-Angel clone herself. Now that Gendo is back in play she could stand to prepare to have a final out with Rei. Also at some point it might help for her come clean with Asuka.

James Axelrad 2009-09-24 . chapter 22this is a great chapter. i like how you have chloe's character shifting. |
gunman 2009-09-23 . chapter 24This review is going to be a little shorter than normal.
1-Kirika reveals everything to Shinji, expecting him to reject her. Good ol Shinji, never lets something that you couldn't control weigh down your shoulders.
2-Asuka confronts Chloe about her past. And it's sad to think that if things had gone wrong, and she was ordered to kill Asuka, she would have done it. Luck or fate seems to be on Asuka's side. If things progress like this, she might even gain an enforcer/cousin who will protect her like Kirika protects Shinji.
3-Kaji wasn't the first person I would have expected to become an Les Soldat investigator, but under the circumstances, I guess that makes sense. And it would put him in a position to get with Mireille after all. (Just putting that out there. If he does try and cheat on her, he'll regret it)
4-And now Chloe has been exposed as the third assassin of Les Soldat, and is actually telling everyone what happened and how she was involved. And they still don't know about her being part Angel. THAT's going to be interesting. First thing I think of: fighting Kaworu!
5-And now Gendo is the new Les Soldat leader? This is what you get for being a 'secret' organization. Lunatics running the show. And Rei is with him. Helping him. Still not comfortable with that, but it's your story.
Still, good story/chapter/update.

gunman 2009-09-23 . chapter 231-Kaworu tries to be charming, and comes off as creepy. Guess it's the same with Shinji, right? Even girls think he's creepy, gay or not.
2-Chloe is wary of Kaworu. But would she be wary if he wasn't AT-Field enhanced? I'm thinking, yes.
3-Kaworu's not much of a stalker. I mean, if you are stalking someone, make sure they don't know you are stalking them. Right? She can feel him, he can feel her. Not good.
4-And seriously, the message he left Chloe? The innuendo's are rather blatant, right?
5-And the 15th Angel has arrived. Which is the perfect opportunity to have Gendo exert more control over his own pilots and scenario. Or mess up in a big way. I mean, push too hard, and something is going to break.
6-And Kirika gets blasted with full mental contamination. Adding to the fact she has already been brain-washed and had her memories erased, that probably wasn't a good idea. I mean, even though she is the best shot, there's no telling what kind of damage the psychic blast beam could do, or undo, inside the girl's head.
7-Go Shinji! Break Free Of Your Bonds!
8-Isn't using the Lance against the Angel risky? Considering where Asuka has to get it? I mean... if she already knew about the Angel, fine, but if she didn't it's one more mystery for her to ponder over NERV's guilt.
9-Honestly, I was expecting Shinji to get in on this, maybe flip the second guard away after Kirika had shattered the kneecap of the first one. I mean, Kirika taking them both out, easy to see that, even with her mind screwed up as it had been. But Shinji helping her, that would have been unexpected.
10-If Kirika already knew that Gendo had sold her to Les Soldat, and Athena, why wouldn't she have made a move sooner? Or was she waiting for something like this to happen, and just reacted? I mean, she has her memories back now, so she's more inclined to act rather than let her 'father' separate her and Shinji again. Right?
11-And Gendo is running scared? Wonderful! Been wiating for that.
12-And now everyone knows that Gendo is a traitor. So to speak. I'd hate to see the refit that's going to happen now that Gendo, the commander of NERV, has been outed as Les Soldat, a known terrorist/criminal organization.
13-Even knowing that his sister has killed someone, Shinji doesn't seem the type to abandon them, if for no other reason than he doesn't want to be alone anymore. And neither does Kirika.
Loved the chapter, if for no other reason than Gendo had been outed and lost control of NERV, all because of one spoken sentence.
(“You will not separate us again, Soldat.”)
