That's just so beautiful and raw. I love it. It's such a lovely glimpse into both their personalities, as much Mitsuru's as Shinobu's - but oh. Ow. Lovely, gorgeous character sketch of Shinobu. I especially like the paragraph where you describe the way Shinobu says it when he means it - "Only I have ever heard it said the other way, whispered in the deep night, too soft to echo through the tissue-thin walls. Harshly torn from his throat, unvoiced."

The only criticism I have is that in the middle of the piece, in the paragraph that begins "No one saves we two...", "saves" should actually be "save".

This was beautiful. The characters seemed so real, I had no doubt that this *was* Mitsuru and Shinobu, and at the same time, you made me look at them in a way I never had before. Wonderfully done.

This-this writing, this intuitive understanding of the possiblities of the characters-is really brilliant.

And you know, that's all I have to say about it.

I love this fic. It just seems so... Shinobu. Why can't I characterize him that well? *sniffles* Shin's my favorite Greenwood character anyways... Poor Shin. He always has had a hard time dealing with his feelings. Hoping you'll write more! Ja!

Very well written piece, I must admit, and an intersting take on the characters. It's nice to read a fic giving Mitsuru a little credit. I've always thought that Shinobu's cold strength was probably his greatest weakness as well, and this fic presented that idea in an eloquent way. One of the best fics in this catagory!

I came back from two weeks of no fic at all (vacation's how most people describe that ;-) and find this insightful little fic in the Greenwood folder. You say it's your first time writing about them? Go on. Your descriptions of Shinobu seem very accurate. He does have a very strong dark side; sometimes fic writers (myself included) forget that. Hope to see more from you! ..
