SomeGuyFawkes 7/21/08 . chapter 5Pretty sure Urd broke some kind of statute of secrecy amongst gods and that that wouldn't really be allowed. UNLESS... Was this the day after all the good Christians ascended to Heaven? ;-) Great chapter, except that Urd did not hide the evidence of the smiting she laid upon Dumbles. |
SomeGuyFawkes 7/21/08 . chapter 4Nice indictment of Snape although I doubt that he was THAT responsible for Dumbledore's evil. - That's a variation on muggleborn genesis that I have not seen before. All in all, a very thoughtful and enjoyable chapter. Thanks! |
SomeGuyFawkes 7/21/08 . chapter 3Another awesome chapter! But, with the three ghostly girlies gone, what's to stop poor Adult!Baby!Harry from going insane? (Or the girls, if they end up adults trapped in baby bodies.) |
SomeGuyFawkes 7/21/08 . chapter 2Dear Lord! I could have gone my whole life without reading about that "ectoplasmic infusion". Please note that nasal mucus and seminal fluid are very similar. Excellent portrait of James, Lily, and life at Godric's Hollow, thank you. Very good chapter, all around. |
SomeGuyFawkes 7/20/08 . chapter 1Great beginning and a nice summary of the Dark Headmaster's actions. I've seen it almost word-for-word elsewhere but it bears repeating. |
marka 7/18/08 . chapter 6Good story, but I was sorely disappointed. I thought there was more chapters and so I got to the end and was all excited to get to the next chapter and SURPRISE! There wasn’t one. So please hurry, well don’t hurry, but focus diligently and write the next chapters. There are a couple things I thought were really annoying and disruptive to ready. The Slyther-things, word, is just unbearable to read, what is the point? It’s just disruptive, not to mention childish for someone with the mind of a 27 year old to be calling names. It’s also a show of hubris, and stupidity to talk of your enemies so carelessly. You start to underestimate them. Same goes for the calling Voldemort, Tom, Tommy, Moldy-Wart etc, yeah in person you might use it to rile them or through them off there game but in planning sessions give an enemy the respect they deserve, they are still capable of being lethal. That out of the way, it would be nice to see a little more family interactions, from the Potters, and Greengrass. This whole thing is about second chance but Harry seems all focused on Voldemort and Death Eaters and there is no mentions anymore of his mom holding him, or his dad playing with him. It’s like so many I have seen, Harry gets his parents and its cool for a day then it’s boring and there is no more written about it. It’s like it was there solely to remove an ache Harry had and now he doesn’t care. Even putting a scene in where Lily is just enjoying watching her little boy play or “read like mumy” or just thinking while holding him, and dreaming of her hopes for her son. That type of thing really adds to the story. Otherwise, there is no point to Harry having his parents back. It mine as well be any other wizard family taking him in. Anyway, I’ve said enough. I like the story, hope you get the new chapters out soon. |
Oxi-Nu 7/17/08 . chapter 3"All three ghosts let out metaphorical breaths they hadn't known they'd been holding." ... xD |
killroy777 7/15/08 . chapter 6updates plox? |
George 7/11/08 . chapter 6 Your analysis of the characters and motives of Dumbles and Snivellus is certainly some of the most interesting I've read so far. |
dogbertcarroll 7/10/08 . chapter 6-ipso facto, she is your wife. LOL! So Lily abandoned her plans to create an explosive castration charm to use on her husband. *snicker* Great chapter. The reasoning behind DD being evil makes far too much sense. |
Lumster 7/10/08 . chapter 6 I do love how things are building up, Harry and friends do seem to have some plans for Dumbledoor and Voldemort. Only real down side is so far they haven't talked at all about what to do with the third dark lord mentioned in the first chapter, the corrupt goverment. Not only do they have to worry about England's corrupt ministry of magic but in the past Harry was sold out by just as equaly corrupt American officials. It would be a real shame that if in the end they cleaned up their neck of the woods only to doom the world to a dark lord from france, america etc. I mean if Voldemort and Grindenwald can go around conquring the world what is it that stops other dark lords from doing it? |
Ibozun 7/10/08 . chapter 6I like this fic : there are some really great ideas... The problem is that half the fics is made of rants against characters and situations you don't like. There are some contradictions too : for example you explained (Urd) that the headmaster is under Snape control and then you say that he CHOOSE to have Snape do what he does : so which one is in control of the other ? I guess this fic is for you to rant (and there are good points in those rants too) but when around half a chapter is made of rants, isn't it a bit much ? This fic is good and I think it would be great with a little less ranting. |
rldragon 7/10/08 . chapter 5You have a unique talent ... you start a wonderful story ... and then you ruin it. *sigh* Such a "deus ex machina" is really the worst solution you could possibly have used. Other than that, this story is very good, except two things. 1) You are making everything easy for the heroes, there is no strife, no struggle, anytime they even come close to not getting their own way, you do something to make that obstacle go away. 2) You make the characters you like perfect, while those that you don't like you make dumb, incompetent etc. For example, James and Lily don't have a single fault, but Snape became a potion master by cheating. I don't like Snape. I find your take in this story on him original and possible. What I dislike is that you are making this a fairy tale. Good is good, bad is bad, good are perfect and bad are *. There is simply no gray. You should have perhaps stayed away from making Ron a bad guy, it is an overused cliche. Or at least warned us like about Dumbledore. Well, that's my two cents, take it or leave it. |
Vilkath 7/10/08 . chapter 6Powerful chapter, one the best lines to me was the one about how Dumbledoor always makes the wrong choices. Like the characters said, he always seems to pick the worst choice, the most painful choice and the one with the most casualties for his own side and the least for his 'enemies'. Death eaters like Malfoy got more of a trail then Sirius, Snape was kept out of any sort of punishment despite the fact you can't become an Inner circle memember without doint some serious evil things even if he wanted to be good, not counting being the one to leak the prophecy to Voldemort. Up to the first few books Dumbledoor could of just been a well meaning old man who made some bad choices. But I really say by the 3rd book on there is little chance Dumbledoor is anything but an evil manipulative man, like many stories call him the Dark Ravenclaw who wants all the knowledge to himself and the rest the world ignorant. |
Fate 7/10/08 . chapter 6 Brilliant! |
