The first thing he stole became an unattainable dream. That sounds oddly poetic. Your drabble about Jack is good. Simple, but I think Jack's a pretty simple guy.

I did think Dave saying "I learned lots from Newsies" had a little less refined speech than normal for him. A good ficlet; really illustrates how David tries two understand two different worlds and sort out which is better.

I'd never thought of it that way. Gambling as Race's "escape". It's a clever thought. Most people contend that he's pretty much a gambling addict, after all.

Short, but sweet. I wonder what he thinks about when he's up there.

Very interesting. I have a thing for drabbles - that being that I'm way too wordy myself to ever successfully write one - and it was nice to see someone pull it off.

I really enjoyed Jack's point of view. The idea that the Western Jim novel was the first thing he stole - that that was what cemented his dreams of a far off Santa Fe - was intriguing.

I like the beginning of this collection of stories. I can't wait to read the rest of them cause I know they're going to be great! Although I would've waited like a day or two before putting up all four chapters even though they are short and really cute. I believe that you've captured the soul of each newsie. Good job!
