I've never really considered why so little wizards become animagi... food for thought, I suppose.
An excellent piece, James' personality, I thought, was captured especially well - impatience, and yet toleration, because we all know he did all he could to stick with a friend, bringing about his downfall, of course.
Would have liked to see a little more of Moony and Padfoot, though... oh well...;P

While I mull over that, I shall comment on your fic. I love this, I love the way Animagi means so much to James, and how much he wants to help Peter. You really captured the essence of the Marauders.

Another fabulous piece of work! I always enjoy your stories... So many people won't write about Peter, or try to inject too much evilness into his character even before anyone knew about it, but you've shown him just as he must have been in school. Fantastic job!

James is so nice! and peter well peter just makes me angry; he had such nice friends and he sold them to voldemort. i hope he dies in the 7th book (ah less than a week!)

James is so gorgeously in character here. Not that we know all that much about his character, but it all seems to fit. Same with Peter, I really liked him in this one. Lovely all around, really, but that's no surprise with you.

I like this, naturally. Not only for excellent writing, but excellent theoretical work into the actual thought process behind becoming a successful animagus. Despite scant information in regards to the Marauder era, everyone is in character. Especially nice to see is a pre-evil Peter, who is wonderfully innoculous. Also, if you read far enough between the lines, there is an amazing sense of grim foreboding. To be an animagus, you must be the animal you are on the inside. And then along comes the rat...

Given how hard it is to become Animagi, I do wish James could have had a little more patience. I suspect it is *extremely* unusual for three friends to do it all at once. (I have a theory about that in the next chapter of my story, pimpetty pimp).

But this is good. As for which Marauder I want, I need to know an answer to a question first--can Peter cook? (cf RATATOUILLE) If not, then it's Lupin, some hot oil, and a curry comb for me!

i liked this one, even if it didn't have Remus! i want James! he's cute, patient, and a good friend! Have you seen the movie yet? What do you think about Tonks look wise? it may just be me, but in the movie, i also liked that Remus looked better in this movie too, although not like i imagine him to really be, but since i really don't remember how he looked like in the third movie, i cant say, all i remembered is that he had a Hitler mustache...
