Wow... this wasn't what I expected when I read the summary... it was so much better. You tied the story with the episode so well. I couldn't believe that Pam had died, after getting to know her. The flashbacks were integrated so well and Sam's thoughts were just dead-on with her character. I just loved this story and hope you continue to write.

Woot! Another wonderful chapter.

LOL when Janet gave Sam the choices for getting onto the stretcher! A friend of mine calls it 'right sleeve or left sleeve'... in other words, you do get to have some say in the matter (which sleeve goes on first), but the jacket *is* going on! LOL!

Great job at the end, too, with Sam asking to be allowed to walk through the 'Gate ( I wouldn't want to come out backwards and on that downhill slope flat on my back on a stretcher either).

Also loved Janet's appearance out in the field for Sam.

Aw, this was so nicely written and really portrays the real Sam Carter - spunky, resilient, fiercely independent. Love the inclusion of Janet in this chapter. A tribute to both gals.

The "going through the Gate on my own terms" made good sense and further revealed Sam's self-pride and need to "stand alone" whenever she could. Teal'c was the perfect escort.
