FinnFiona 2008-07-30 ch 6,	abuseWell! First off, you know this is good--and there are a lot of great insights here... I love the character development, particularly in these last few chapters. And the sort of easy friendship that these three have going is perfect as well--though perhaps sometimes they're too... straightforward with each other. With Mrs. Potter, too, even. I don't know... but it's heartwarming and heartbreaking all at the same time, which is, of course, my favorite way to be :) And you've really got me hoping that Remus and Sirius build upon their friendship, and Lily gets to liking James so we can get onto this godfathering business, and everything else. As for continuing--I, of course, would love to see where you take it. There's definitely a lot to explore there--and there are some layers and depths that you've started to hit on that are interesting and many more to go. Though I don't know how far I'd carry it--I don't think I see it as having a TON of chapters, but a moderate amount could be nice :) I do think your writing style has changed a bit, so I'm not sure how easy you'd find it to get back in the groove of this one, but it's worth a try at the very least. Now, I say again that this is not the era I usually read (and I will admit that I find myself comparing it to the characters we know better)--but that being said, you made me enjoy what was going on here and it really is an interesting and informative little snippet of their lives. So kudos to you ;) But in the end, I really just have two questions: 1. where do you see this going? 2. are you excited about the possibilities, about picking it up again? so that's my two cents, for what it's worth~Fi

I think it's a really realistic take on what they'd actually do. I also think that it definitely has the potential to become a novel-length fic, if you followed Sirius up to the point where he finally lets go of his family. Maybe Regulus's death? Since Regulus is the only one in his immediate family that he still kind of feels a connection to? And I'd like to see how the two boys react to each other if they see each other at Hogwarts. Anyway, this story basically rocks, and I'd really like it if you continued it, if you feel like picking it back up after months of not updating. Thanks, and keep writing!

You make him human and vulnerable in this story while still maintaining that dark, angsty side that seems to be an essential part of Sirius Black. I can't wait to read more of this!

Made me a bit teary when Sirius cried, even though it wasn't anything like Still Left Behind. Still, this is a good story. I like your writing and I wanna see this plot work itself out as well. Though I just wanna say that I'm not encouraging you to abandon Still Left Behind to work on this, because if I have to choose, I love that even more. But, if you ever have time for both or something, I'm putting this on my alert too.
