An interesting tale. The only criticism I have is that the parents were far too light in their criticism of D, although they might just be saving themselves for later, right?

You've got the chance to explore the muggle/wizard relations with the anticipated escape of a dangerous prisoner. If you're skilled enough at writing you can use a template of our own relations between the scientific crowd and the religious one; but remember, do that carefully as some people have very thin skins. :)

I would love it if, using the same scenario, it was the muggle parents who figured out what was going on. Mostly because I don't remember that being done by a competent author.

I am really looking forward to the next book, as well as your changes to the canon. I really hope on of those changes is going to be harry keeping Hermione from schooling herself to the edge of sanity.

Oh yeah, Hermione went to France between the Second and Third books, does this mean Harry gets a holiday?

It's nice to see Ginny getting closer to the trio, I wonder how soon she and Harry will get together, and how long it will take Ron and Hermione to get together. I suspect that it won't take as long as it did during the canon. Ron definitely seems to have a greater maturity about him.

I liked how you wrote the part with Dumbledore in his office with Harry and Hermione's parents added into it. I also liked how you got him to make Lockhart lose his own memory.

Nice that you kept Malfoy's defeat the same.

Eh, somebody's getting grounded this summer.
A very decent rewrite, and it's nice to read Harry acting intelligently for a change. That's one of my gripes with JKR... Harry is only the son of one of the most brilliant Charms and Potions students of her generation on one side and of an exceptional prankster who was able to become an animagus on his own and contributed in the creation of a unique artifact by his fifth year...

I must admit, I am enjoying your variation more then the original. I truly hope they this one is finished soon, as i would really love to read your Prisoner of Azkaban.

It will probable be just as engrossing as i found it's original.

"before Riddle explored in a burst of golden light" I believe you meant exploded, not explored.

I enjoyed Hermione fighting Riddle.
