I quite liked this story, and it's sort of in the style of a fan-translated light novel, only even lighter, like most fanfics. There could be a little more on the description area, though it still works as is.

The characters were believable, and didn't do anything I wouldn't expect them to do. The only thing that really differs is that Kyon isn't quite as stubborn in his denial as he is in the series.

I liked the way you used the sealed reality as an indication that something was slowly going downhill, and not just the sort of static way it's used in the series.

The yin and yang ideas does fit them very well. As far as stability goes, they do have a stable relationship, yet it's in constant flux, so it's got both parts.

On a personal note, I found Haruhi's description of obsession to reflect what she was actually feeling. She was pretty much willing to let her passion for the number seven get in the way of their friendship, which is about how she defined obsession, rather than passion. Unless she finds it acceptable to value that over their friendship, that is, which I doubt.

Well lets see. This story had me enthralled for many parts of it, but I kept getting confused during parts of it. First of all, I didn't understand how that Kitsune part fit in. Second, I couldn't tell when Kyon was thinking to himself or speaking out loud. I think you needed Kyon's speech in quotes too or something. Anyways I like it a lot and it seemed very creative, although I think I need to read the Haruhi novels before I read more stuff on Haruhi.

Damn, you did a crazy good job on this. I could honestly see this being stuck into later Haruhi novels and not skip a beat- the writing style's quite similar to Tanigawa's.

The story could have been better. You set the mood real well for someone attempting to write a fic where Haruhi is serious. Other than that though, the thing seems a bit rushed. It could just be me though.

That's nice discussion and all, but you managed to lose all the romantic feeling you've been building up in the previous chapters. It's not a bad fic, but the ending is rather anticlimatic.

An interesting story. Your writing style is interesting and fluid, and, though not in sync with that of the novels, stands on its own quite well. The little tidbits into Kyon's and Haruhi's beliefs were also done quite well (the part with the fox particularly; it added a lot of depth to Kyon's character.)

One complaint I have is that some of the earlier chapters all start up a little disconnected, like you're starting a new one-shot instead of continuing from the last chapter, but you managed to clear that up a bit later on, so no worries there, so, aside from a few other trivial errors here and there, well done. I'll be looking forward to more fics by you :).
