I've always had a soft spot for drabbles, and I was very impressed with what you managed to convey with so few words. A little envious, too, of course, but... Eh. Hee. I have to agree with you about flint over granite. Also, I thought the interaction between Hermione and Ron was very in-character. I'd never heard of Gwydion before, so that's another point for broadening my (admittedly narrow) horizons.

Good job - and now I look forward to reading the expanded fic.

Oh, I LIKE it! I was just thinking about the tale of Blodeuwedd this morning while cleaning the owleries (One of our Barn Owls is 'Gwydion') and when I got home, there was your story waiting to be read. I think 'flint' sounds just fine -- anyway, isn't flint harder than granite? My only nitpick is that there's an extra quotation mark at the start of your penultimate paragraph, but it's a lovely little vignette and I love the mythological reference. Ron's reaction is priceless.
