If the 's' indicates a possessive, it is preceded by an apostrophe; for example, 'Dante's arms' rather than 'Dantes arms'. If the 's' indicates pluralisation, as in 'arms', there is no apostropphe. If the word is both possessive and plural, place the apostrophe after the 's'. It is a common problem. You also spelled 'possessively' wrong. |
