YAY for Sammy! He pretended everything was normal and he hasn't smacked Dean yet...he's got soo much patience!

This is a great chapter! Poor dean!
That Girl Six 8/28/07 . chapter 5
First, I'm trying to block out the memory of two months of vertigo with a toddler in the house. Yuck ...

Second, nice story. I was thoroughly amused with Dean. The guy is such an awful patient. I was pretty much fearing for Sam's sanity there at the beginning. Not fun at all. Twenty questions? Amusing. The last two lines are a little schmaltzy, but that's not a bad thing. Sometimes I need a little schmaltz. All in all, a good Tuesday night bedtime read. Nice work. I look forward to seeing what else you can come up with.

Happy writing!

Really enjoyed that. Loved Dean's sarcasm and Sam's brotherly love! Thanks :-)

Cuteness alert! Consider yourselves warned ;D Great writing as always.

Things could have been much worse and he guessed when it came down to it, sometimes you had to fall to realise there was someone there to catch you.

And that was not a bad lesson to learn at all.

That ending said it all, summed up the whole story perfectly, just brilliant!

Loved how Sam was all concerned, yelling at Dean for taking a shower on his own whilst he was asleep before realising that Dean was actually walking normally, although slower than usual!

Sam heard the words that were left unspoken though.

Thanks for taking care of me.

Thanks for looking out for me.

Thanks for not letting me fall.

He smiled. “No problem.” he said simply and as Dean glanced at him he knew his brother heard the words he didn't say aloud either.

It's what I'm here for.

That's my job.

I never will.

Plus, loved all the unspoken words between them, each knowing what the other was wanting to say, but not wanting to stray into a chick flick moment!

Nice too that in a way they had both enjoyed a few days off the hunt, even though Dean was not 100% and that they would take it easy, drive down south before launching into another hunt!

Great story, but all yours are, really enjoyed it, thanks for sharing, your writing just gets better and better and it was brilliant to begin with!

Trust Sam to come up with '20 questions' to play as they were both getting bored in the motel! Great too that they learned things about each other, and each revealed a little more than they really intended without getting really into a 'chick flick' moment! So sweet Dean's memory of apple pie, which now gives Sam a warm feeling when he eats it, thinking about what his brother revealed! And Sam's favourite place being the impala, the childhood memories of travelling with Dean and John and the recent times with Dean! Surprised Sam would think Dean would tease him about it because it would obviously be Dean's favourite place too! Loved their joint memories of 'The Shining', watching it together as children, and made me laugh that Dean expected Sam to choose a chick flick!

Great that Dean is recovering too, now up to eating a burger, hopefully he will soon be back to normal as there is a limit to how much down time the two of them can take, especially Dean who's not known as the most patient of people!

Awesome chapter again, loved it!

Awesome chapter, just where do I start...? Loved Sam in ultra caring brother mode, driving slower than a granny, to make the journey as comfortable as he could for his brother and prevent him from puking on the upholstery! And so sweet how he undressed him and got Dean in his bed clothes whilst he was asleep, again minimising Dean's embarrassment at having to be helped! Loved how Dean thought it kind of nice Sam had done that for him, although it was a fact he would never mention to his brother, ever!

Trust Dean though to decide to try and make it to the bathroom on his own, and can just imagine his disgust falling face down on the revolting carpet and seeing dust bunnies under the bed older than himself! And then having to wait for Sam to return in order to get up! Sam yelling at Dean was spot on, although it was anger and concern, but Dean never just stays put, but had it been Sam in the same situation he would probably have tried to make it to the bathroom too! Fantastic comment "You had better balance when you were 3 years old.” - so funny! And Dean having to swallow his pride and ask for Sam's assistance in leaving the bathroom!

Dean was almost like a kid at Christmas with the pie, and it meant so much and tasted to much better that Sam had been thoughtful enough to get one of his favourites!

Perfect end to the chapter with Dean falling asleep during the movie and an exhausted Sam getting the rest he so needs in the neighbouring bed!
NC Girl 8/11/07 . chapter 5
I enjoyed this!

There were certain passages, like the one below, that just seemed so perfectly written- the right reaction at the right time:

Sam felt frustrated there was nothing he could do to make this better, but instinctively he reached out and put his hand on top of Dean's. Given Dean's usual aversion to personal contact Sam was unprepared for the way he grabbed hold of it and held on so tightly Sam was in danger of losing circulation. He knew Dean must be feeling really bad to do something so drastic, so he said nothing and simply held on hoping that he was at least providing some sort of anchor in the storm Dean was currently trapped in.“You should try and drink something.” said Sam softly and Dean sighed but he let Sam help him sit up and hold the glass to his mouth so he could drink. He should have been holding the glass on his own and telling Sam not to mother him, but right now he really didn't care.

He wondered if he could persuade Sam to shoot him later.

"sometimes you had to fall to realise there was someone there to catch you. And that was not a bad lesson to learn at all."

-and that, I believe, is what season 3's gonna be all about. Cause sadly even if Sam thought he knew, Dean never heard the unsaid "It's what I'm here for. That's my job." at least not by the wha? look on his face when Sam finally said it out loud at the end of season 2. Oh my Dean.

Thanks for the story, liked the multi-layeredness of it.

I really enjoyed that. Nice brotherly banter, and it was good to see Sam taking care of Dean, and Dean allowing it. Good job!
deanandhisimpala 8/5/07 . chapter 5
Aw! Great story. I'm sorry I haven't reviewed in so long - been totally busy - but wow! To come back and find that four chapters had been added made me smile alright! Great job on this. And it gave me lots of laughs. Thanks so much for this, once again! Can't wait for the next one! ;)
nikki 8/5/07 . chapter 5
What a very well done, entertaining story! Accurate too: I had a bad attack of vertigo several years ago, and I can tell you from ghastly experience that there is nothing - absolutely nothing - more miserable to live with at its worst. Congratulations on getting it right.
