Why does Shikamaru state he's a former Kumo nin in the first chapter? Surely the guards at the gate would recognise him as a Konoha ninja? If he was just sent to Kumo on a mission, it would've been as a Konoha nin, with no obligation to transfer allegiance to another village or to wear a different headband (and why would a loyal ninja of Konoha do so?). This first chapter is just odd.
