Very nice (though very short) chapter. It sounds very much like the sort of thing a young Reep would do - and not thinking of taking anything to eat? Just the sort of thing a little boy, er, mouse would do. :P

I liked this line:
“Now the adventure is really beginning.” He smiled and let the feeling wash over him, then gave a thoughtful frown. “All I need to do now is find a dragon or a monster to slay, or find a maiden locked up somewhere, waiting to be rescued. Or maybe I’ll discover…”

And I just love Reepicheep! Good job on keeping him in character! *grin*

I already adore this! Reepicheep has always been one of my most favorite characters of the favorites of my favorite characters!:P And Peepicheek as his younger brother? I suppose that makes enough sense. :)

Very sweet little scene, this chapter! *beam* And I need not fear the wrath of an indignant knight of Narnia, for this is set when he was a child! So there. *chuckle* (I wouldn't dare call Reep anything close to "sweet" otherwise)

Hey...do you think you've finished it yet?

I read the 6 chapters you've written so far. I love them all. However, if this revelation of humility came to Reepicheep so early, then his struggle in Prince Caspian would seem useless. Reepicheep grew up believing that he had to do everything right and be fearless to protect himself. But things changed after his conversation with Aslan. (Wherein Reep realizes that although the World judges him and doesn't understand him, Aslan does understand. He breaks down Reep's defences, making him admit to fear--fear of being abused and rejected. But Aslan will never reject or abuse him, and along with some new humility he also gives new honor and glory.) In keeping with my argument, I wish you would include a little bit of Mouse culture...make the Mice hard and defensive on the outside, building their worldview (most unfortunately) around performance. That's the great thing about Aslan, BTW--he doesn't give a hoot about performance!

I like the way you made reference to the sadness and ruin the Telmarines are bringing on Narnia. It makes things sad, but realistic in keeping with the timelone of the books. Also, I love the idea of Peepiceek and Reepicheep being brothers!

Aww. Poor mousie. Great chapter, though with a very sad ending. Poor Reep, to lose his father so young.

I find it interesting that everybody refers to the button as blue when, on my computer, it looks like it's a really light purple...

But anyway, I liked it. Flashbacks are nice, and Reep figuring things out for himself is always good...
